hay guys any of you have a 86-87 non turbo or turbo model coil packs? the trailing and leading? i just found out mine are bad. if anyone has a pair how much for both?

ren i tested my spark i get out nothing so im guessing my coils went bad and i checked for fuel the motor is getting fuel and i put fresh fuel ,new plugs wires and new spark plugs.the timing is also where it needs to be.i also took the time to double check my fuses and relays . i still cant figure why my dumby cluster isnt working only one of the lights up, its the rear hatch....but only if its poped open not when you first turn the key to acc/or about to start the car postion of the key.
but other then that my id say is on its way to coming back to life....reborn.....

Don't get a pipe bender, They don't make the bends right. Order one of the tubing benders that are listed in Circle Track or one of the other stock car magazines. I have a pipe bender that I use for other things (I'll rent it to you if you want for a cage, but you will not be happy with the results).

The tubing benders are about the same price typically and just make tighter radius bends, with lest deforming of the pipe. I also have one of the hole saw style tubing notchers. They are what you need to use to really do things right, they make the connections so clean and nice fitting.

Not really. They are in pipe sizes (as in schedule 40), not tubing sizes, so the dies don't really fit roll bar tube. If you get roll bar tube it is also thinner wall than schedule 40 and it will crush and kink when you bend. You can get it to work , but you have to be very very careful. When you are finished there will be SOME deforming in the bend. A picky tech inspector may reject you. In addition the radius of the bend is pretty large and it is hard to get the bend to fit nice and tight up against the roof in the corners.

The roll cage tubing benders in the stock car magazines are about the same price, maybe just a little more, but not much. They make nice tight bends that are nearly perfect. They and manual, not hydraulic, but I have not had a problem with mine. You have to mount the bender on something really strong. I have my old chassis jig I used to use for my race cars, and I made a temporary mount for when I needed to do roll cages.

Trust me on this, I learned the hard way. I still have the pipe bender and the tubing bender both. I admit I use the pipe bender, but not for roll cage.

Great to hear, sounds like an ok car, probably better off than mine. What trim level is it? GS, GSL? (rear disks or drums are the telling).

I have a spare carb I want to get rid of. It needs an accelerator pump, you can get a carb kit from Advance Auto Parts. I might have an extra accelerator pump, but chances are old ones are on their last leg anyway. I do have more than one carb, and I have at least one that I consider a "parts carb" if you only end up needing something small.

Bryan, You still thinking about going to the Zoom Zoom Live? If you are thinking about going, you should enter. It is free and Mazda even supplies the cars for you to race.

https://zoomzoomlive.com/

Free racing, and using their cars.... Why not?

Mine is similiar to that one http://www.lowbucktools.com/hydbender.html except that it has a ratchet type thingey. You have to ancor it solidly. Dale didn't belive me.

I can make the bends you need if you want to do the rest. Let me know what you want them for. I have a 2nd gen and a 1st gen I can make the bends for. I also have a couple hundred feet of .120 wall X 1.75 OD tubing if you need. You can cut the fishmouths and weld it up. If you do it right there are only about 6 bends in a good cage.

I wish I could go man, but I've gotta work friday, saturday, and sunday, so the chance of me making it out to Zoom Zoom is slim to none.

Renegade, how are you and your dad coming on those motor mounts?
