Yes harold can be shady sometimes, i think he does that to test the reaction of customers. If they fall for it, its to their (the shop)'s advantage. If they dont, then he tries to cover it up.

I remember one time he told me it was ok to have the CEL when the car builds up more HP.

yea my cousin told me when i go there just to walk around back into the shop and find marcos sr and ask him to do the work at home on the side. I know Sr actually does good work. Also he is honest with me and doesnt try bullshitting me like harold

I have been having problems for almost the past 2 year.. They were suposed to install an engine i got from gotham and do a custom vmount which was never done. unfortunatly i havent been around cuz i moved and my brother has been trying to handle it for me but im going to fly up and rip my car out. First the d!cked me around for months before they even installed the engine then after that it was one thing after another. then they said they dont know how to tune with a PFC (wtf) i had to change it for a microtech then i had to wait 4 or 5 months for them to recieve that. then it took then forever to install that. After that they said oh they r tuning it this week a week goes by no these other two cars are ahead if mine is going on 2 years being there i dont even wana know how long those are there for. and after that they said they had a "break in" and they stole my hood my 5speed rx8 illuminated shift **** and a bunch of other stuff. then they finally got all those parts in and it was more waiting. i called them on sat this week and they said "ooooh it will be ready tuesday" my brother called cuz he was on his way and they said ohh im sorry it wont be ready till next week.. I really dont know if they do good work i just hope their work is nothing like there customer service cuz that just sucks.. they give you the same bullsh!t excuses every week.. i just want my car back tuned and what i paid for.. OH and not to mention all of this was paid upfront for.

BRTN, I hope you realize that if you sit back and allow people to rip you off you do loose the protection of the law. As it is considered that you let them do it.

You have been without you car for 2 years?!?! Wow. You really need to get someone else to take care of this for you. You need to act now. Not soon. If you your car is ready and prefect by next week start checkout out my long post on what to do to write a letter and/or file a suit.

Or just sell them your car. Or give it to them, that's what you have practically done at this point.

thats funny youn said that because they gave me the same **** story. I orders a singe turbo kit and a custom intercooler and then they told me that i would need a microtech to do this kind of work because the power fc is garbage. So i said aright whatever(even though i know alot of people are running power FC with the turbo that i got and it was good). So then i gave them the money for a microtech and a custom tune and that is where the problems started to happen. They said that the microtechs had to come in from australia and all this **** started going wrong from there. What color is your car??

its red with sum gold 57pros. Yup thats where im at to. But i moved to Florida and when all this was happening with the microtech i called pettit and they had a bunch in stock and i was willing to send it to them but they wouldnt refund me my money. I called them again today and they just told me they started tunning and ran into some problems with the injectors. It might be ready by monday.. yeah more like monday of next year. im flying up and getting a lawyer involved if my car isnt ready by monday..

Well thank god my car only stayed there for 2 days because i didn't want it to stay at there shop. However my money did stay in new jersey. My car came with me to north carolina

Good luck guys. It really sucks that there are people like this out there. But get on the ball and don't let time slide.

Like Chrism said, get your car out now. Make sure all the parts are on. And demand a full refund. Make it clear parts are no longer an option.

Keep records of every time you talk to them. Who you talked to. What was said. What date, what time. etc.

If you are going there in person with a lawyer consider bringer along your own rotary mechanic to watch out for BS and shady things. Immediately have the car checked out to see what condition they are in.

You didn't have to pay to replace any of the parts that where "stolen" correct?

Hopefull this link will work for the Better Business Bureau. I found them so you guys can file complaints. Wont do anything magical, but can't hurt.

If you need to bring it to a shop that will get the job done, let me know. Ihor and I have very good feedback, and are local to the area that your car has been sitting at for the last couple of years. Of course, we'd rather you were running a power fc than a microtech, and we're also backed up for a few months.

all performance shops are backed up, thats why it takes so long,acosta doesn't give you their price on all parts,(some parts they will) so that why i get my own parts and let them install.

^^Yup, they even told me that they recommend the customer get the parts and they do the installation. That way, they wont be blamed on the total price of the bill and let the customer get the part as cheap as possible on their own. Not to mention it is faster to just have all the parts ready, then throw the car on the lift or whatever and do the work and be done.

+1 6 months is pretty crazy and 2 years is inexcusable. A shop where you have to be on your toes to keep them from ripping you off is NOT a reputable shop.

And being backed up is one thing, but they never even ordered the parts for the OP. So that's kinda BS. If they don't order parts then they should say so and not have expected his car.

Unless something major has been left out they are very much in the wrong. But there are a lot of people all to happy to take people's money. They got at least a 6 month interest free loan from the OP and a 2 year interest free loan from BRTNCUSTOM.

In short they got Vosko-ed.

Thumbs down They REALY SUCKS

They srewed me me dried and boy it hurts. But they messed with the wrong person, I sued them, won & would not refer them to my worst enemy. U may file & get more than $5k if it include court cost, $5k is the max in small claim court in NJ.

honestly if you drive over there often you see the same cars over and over again. i used to think that it was because people are pushing there cars to the limit and getting stuff done and **** like that. Then i realized they were there because they were never touched. They would just sit there for weeks and months at a time. Like i said some people have good experiences with them. I went to buy my first rx7 from marcos when i was 16 and i didnt end up buying it because my dad said it was to fast fvor me. My cousin went to all of marcos events and hang out with them over there and i was only like 11 and they were the reason why igot into rx7;s. when i finally got mine i brought it to them so they can hook up everything i wanted. now here i am 3k later and nothing to show for it. JUst alot more bills for the car and a shop 600 miles away having to work on it. I know its just a sob story

Took my 8 there and boy did i regret it got rip off big time !! and on top of that they installed springs that were cut to give me a better drop,when i asked marcus what the hell was that he said oh we fired the mechanic .... i told them how about checking the work thats being done in the shop moron....before it comes out!!!

Thats true now that i think of it. Its really the same cars. Their red FD with the 99 front. A purpleish supra IIRC, couple of civics. Their rx8s. Out of the many times i been there, i really havent seen a car that i havent seen before. Unless many people have the same car.

SO i guess they are bad but how are they still running? If many people complained, shouldnt they be fined or closed down? Even though i dont think they should be closed down, theres always 2 sides to every story. The marcos's are good people, father is a good mechanic while son just works the counter. Whoever is the other mechanics prob suck because work is not getting done.

3: They simply needed a bigger shop/area. If you go to their new location in elmwood park, its much bigger and nicer. Next to some factory of some sort and near the highway so they can make all the noise they want.
