DC Area thread - The District, NoVa, Maryland
Yeah Ian, the car is in good shape. It just needs "polishing" and the entire engine bay to be assembled. I did find out afterwards the passenger lock doesnt seem to work? I find it strange with as good as everything is the passenger lock would have been changed out.... Only thing I am missing is the ECU harness. So if anyone is reading this, I NEED A S4 T2 ECU HARNESS!!!!!
Eage....I wish I could take that T2 diff off your hands!!
P.S. who is going to the east coast rotary classic?

Its in June, there is a thread in the east coast section for it.

Headed home with an FD right now. It's non-running due to no spark. The PO bought it as a roller and installed a rebuilt engine/wiring harness etc. and tried to get it running in stock form. Any of you FD savvy guys feel inspired to come over and give me a few pointers/look it over?
I've got the stock ECU and a PFC.
I'm in Dumfries right off of 234 and close to I95 exit 152.
Also, I'm selling my vert if you know anyone who might be interested.

Stick with the stock ecu until you sort the spark issue
If the PO made a lot of mods to the ignition sys, it may be easier to source a used and unmolested one than troubleshoot what you've got
Good luck

I've gone before to the various ones around, although not regularly. If you (or anyone else for that matter) does plan on going, they should let the rest of us know. I'm usually more likely to go if I know someone else that is going to be there.
Well I just attended the Sunday c&c in Fairfax and was wondering. I'm more than likely going to be there regularly now that i know where the meet is and what time its at. I'll post whenever it gets closer to the weekend and see if anyone would like to go.
Rocky, the harness looks like an unmodified stock one at first glance but I have to pull off the intake to be sure. There is a second one that came with it that he said has aftermarket injector clips in a box in the hatch. They both appear to be LHD harnesses.
I'm not sure how the twins are set up to run and don't know whats going on with the vacuum situation. I hope it's setup for simplified sequential and if it's not I'll set it up to run as such. I can see that the boost sensor isn't plumbed and has no plug connected, also no knock sensor is in place.
I honestly haven't looked at it very closely because I expect to have to fix some stuff. The good news is Im not seeing any modified wiring.
The guy said the car has a brand new set of factory twins and they look like it. The car has a big front mount and unrestricted exhaust. Should I pull them off to port the wastegate, or sell them and try to find a set of twins that have been rebuilt with a BNR upgrade? After I get it running in stock form I'm going to have to find a way to prevent boost creep before putting miles on it. Don't want to blow it up because it went too lean!
If you have sometime to swing down and take a look that would be great!
