I'll do the cruise on Saturday, but the trip to Mir on Sunday is a go too.

 

I'm in for the original plan - it's been awhile since I've been out towards Shenandoah and it's always more fun driving the car outside the city. I also avoid DC's streets in the FD - it's just brutal on the suspension. (The beltway and its on and off-ramps are just as bad right now though.) I have other plans in the afternoon so won't be making MIR.

Majority wins so whatever is decided is fine. It's supposed to be nice, clear and cool on Sunday for some good driving nonetheless.

 

I'm still good for Saturday, although I'd hate to tear up the ride due to bad roads.

Rocky, if it is too much trouble for you to rearrange something on Saturday, then I am sure most of us will be cool with it. There is no question that you have put forward enough effort as is.

Either way, hope we can work something out.

Yea Rocky you have really put a lot of work into this cruise. I appreiate all the effort you put forth. I would def be down for a cruise Sunday morning that ends at MIR.

 

Sunday is possible , but in the "new look" A4 .

My 7 will be ready in 2 weeks so I may run a pass or two with the Audi at MIR Sunday.

 

Getting the 7 guys together is harder than understanding a mute girl over the phone lol. Any definitive plans for this weekend Rock?

Sunday is MIR for sure...but for me I do want to tag along for the Sunday run, but dont want to get there too late...we can alway pull next week...lol

 

Sorry guys I haven't done an update yet. Yesterday I intended to do a dry run of the DC parts of Route C so that I could report on the condition of the roads etc. Unfortunately my roommate blew his radiator on the way home from work and I had to go rescue/repair his car.


I think I have come to a decision though. Sunday we will do Route C due to the numbers that are interested in MIR and an outing this weekend. Sorry I cannot assure you that it is going to be a smooth ride the whole way, but we are not going to be going on any of the city surface streets so that is something.

Route B will be Re-scheduled for 2 weeks from Sunday on Nov. 20th (providing we get enough people still interested) I originally didn't want to do it that weekend due to there being a conflict with a Test and Tune/Autocross but, I have mostly given up hope for you guys to attend those. However I am still competing Saturday in case anyone is interested.

Estimated departure time from IHOP to be 10am. Estimated drive time 2:30. Estimated trip time with stops for pictures: 3:00. This has us arriving to MIR at 1:00pm. (we can do earlier but we need to make that decision quick)

If you didn't see it before: I'm planning to grab food in IHOP before departure. If anyone wants to join, try to show an hour before departure time. Whoever gets there first, park somewhere that we can group the cars together for pre-trip photos and grab a table big enough for everyone interested in food.

 

I think I'm out. I understand the need to audible a route change for the MIR event but I was really looking forward to a drive out west and may still head out on route B, at least partially. I had also planned some other activities out west and need to go north in the afternoon so going south is a bit counter-productive for me.

I will miss the RX camaraderie however and hopefully route B can be planned again for the 20th, although the leaves will be gone by then. (They say last weekend was peak color change and this weekend is the last "leaf" report.) Thanks for setting it all up Rocky. And if not a road trip on that Sunday, I'll be up for that test and tune event for autocross. Sundays I can do.

Cruise with us...and MIR has rotary guys, and a show...and a nice drive...

 

We had a small turnout for the impromptu MIR Blitz. But had a lot of fun at the show. Multiple Old school rotarys were out tearing up the track and even some 7's too. The Brap brap brap of their motors put a smile on all of our faces (the bikini clad women didn't hurt either). There are many pictures of the happenings on various cameras that I hope will be posted here. I'll leave it to the others to recap the trip if they want.


Update: Over dinner we had a discussion and the Shenandoah (Route B) trip is set for 11/20 pending interest. Unfortunately for me, there is an autocross TnT the same day. There was some interest in everyone coming to the autocross to watch/ride along and then hitting the cruise afterward, but Frederick is an hour and a half away from Front Royal so this doesn't seem feasible to me (tell me if I'm wrong). Therefore I will be doing one or the other.

This makes it important to me that you only list your name if you are definitely in. Please list your names as before so I can get a headcount and make my decision.

Sunday was fun! Vlad and I ended up running against a couple mustangs on the way down to MIR. We embarrassed the hell out of a new 5.0 and surprised the heck out of a 600whp+ Mach1 by not letting him get away.

The show was a blast! There were a fair amount of cuties running around too (please tell me somebody got some good pics of those Army girls!!!)

Yeah, there were three in particular that I saw walking along when Vlad and I just arrived. They make this one look like a real munter.. Those three were DELISH!!!
