My friends said if the car is 20 years old, you dont need emissions testings, so i figured you guys would know the correct answer to this question.

Anyone?

In PA, you don't get tested if your car is OBD-I or older.

They're getting rid of pre-OBDII emmissions in MA to reduce the cost of the equipment for inspection stations. But don't hold your breath, this isn't going to happen any time soon. I expect it to happen 3-8 years from now.

Well OBD-III will start in 2009 which will include satellite reading equipment for cars which may start to eliminate testing stations altogether.

Originally OBD-II was SUPPOSED to be satellite linked but it never made it that far.

OBD-I technically only was one year, 1995, everything pre 1995 was manufactuor specific.
