Oh I've been thinking about it for a LONG TIME... I have to admit however, It's been difficult trying to blow up my motor in an effort to speed along the LS1 transformation. I keep blowing up turbo's instead.

When i bought my car it had a bad S5 turbo on it.I guess after 16+ years its hard to get a good stock turbo. With a v8 you would not need a turbo to make any power.

need, no....want, HELL YES.

if nothing else a nice smal centrifugal supercharger would be nice on it.
I wont be happy until i can break the wheels from a dead stop in 4th gear.

Oh I'm fully aware of the benefits of a nice LS1. However, I'm actually VERY pleased with how well my motor is holding up. It's only got 20k miles on it. I had it rebuild with new rotor housings so the motor is practically brand new. The new turbo should be in sometime in the next few weeks, then it's off to tuning in search of 400whp.

If it breaks in that time... LS1 Swap.

Positive displacement might be a better choice for your goal. But a simpler recipe:
- 4.88+ rear end
- serious clutch
- 165 tires with 80k warranty and 75psi
- 50lb flywheel

That was 2mchpwrs car!? I've got pictures of it from the MIR Import vs Domestic show/race (appropriate, right?)

VERY NICE. I was looking for the owner to ask lots of questions but couldn't find you.

highflying, your turbo 2 is beautiful..even though im a rotorhead your car is still nice..theirs a guy down the street from he's owns a import performance shop, he's got a nice green fc with a 383 stroker..he said he kept blowing rotary motors so he switched, i told him you must not be good at building rotary motors then..

I've had a couple so far. See sig for details. I think the next one is going to have a turbo Buick motor. Might go back to an FC as well, the FD was more "sporty" but the FC was a lot more comfortable to drive. Us fat guys got to have some room in there

Damn, I thought some noob wanted to know if you could put valves in a rotary.... I was ready to have some fun with this.... Then I just saw some pictures of Rx-7's that have torque.... I wonder what thats like... having low end torque and all... J/K!

I have always thought of doing this. I just can never decide if I am man enough to defy the rotary gods.

Thanks.
Now the motor is out of the car and i put in new clevite bearings and ARP rod bolts and main studs. Now she should be safe if i bounce off the 7200 rpm rev limiter.

jl_rotary i didnt forget about the parts. There in my shed.If you want to wait untill the cars
done then i can meet you somewhere like cecil county and you could check out the car.I will contact you when its running and we can set something up.

schmol Where not all quitters. We all just like to improve the things we buy. Some people have found the downside to their car and then theres others who havent.I found the downside and i am just doing a "reliability mod."

I am so sick of the lsx/v8 guys posting these pointless threads just to start arguements that they know will happen. And then saying "why do u have to hate on the v8?"

No one gives a ******* ****, you dont have to justify why you are doing the swap, just do it and shut the **** up.

Im starting ****?Ha, schmol's the one who first insults everyone with a swapped car by saying there all quitters.

I did not start this thread to start a flame fest.I started it to see how many local people have swapped cars.So if you dont have a swapped car this thread has nothing to do with you.

No one "gives a ******* ****" what your opinion is either, but nobody told you to shut the **** up. Maybe you should pull your panties out of your gunch a little and stop worrying about what other people do with their own property.
