2018 Ohio / NE Ohio Rotary Meet-Ups

Newbie here ('93 R1 CYM). Wondering if anyone is planning any Rotary meet-ups for Ohio/NE Ohio (and surrounding areas) rotary folks this year? If no, might I suggest one of the following?:
  • IMSA/Weather Tech Sports Car Series at Mid Ohio (May 5-6)
  • Vintage Grand Prix at Mid Ohio (Jun 22-24)
  • Motor Muster at Greenfield Village (Jun 16-17)
  • Henry Ford Museum (pretty much any time)
  • Any other suggestions welcome
Look forward to your input.

There are always a couple RX-7s at the Mid-Ohio vintage races, though I don't ever recall a planned meet there. I'll have my '79 at both events this year (weather permitting). There were a ton of RX-7s in the SCCA runoffs held there a few years ago, it's being held at Indy this year and would probably be worth the drive.

There are a lot of RX-7 owners around Columbus, I see a few FDs and FCs on a fairly regular basis, but I don't think many of the owners are active on this forum.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully see you at Mid-Ohio. Out of curiosity, do the find that the Columbus area owners are active on another forum/site?

No idea. I think there's a reasonably popular facebook group but I don't use facebook myself. We have two rotary specialist shops in town, there have to be a reasonably large number of owners around to sustain both of them.

Ohio meets

Mazdaverx713b (Dave Jones) has a couple of meets a year at his house. And there is usually a very good crowd. He is west of Cleveland. He is a great guy and is a rotary freak. he would love to have you and your CYM at his meet. Look him up and introduce yourself, he will be happy to hear from you. The CYM is his dream car. He owns several cars besides his 1st and 2nd gens.

I'll have my car at Mid Ohio for driving events multiple times this year. Other than that it gets to some cars and coffee events in Columbus.

FD guys used to meet up a lot in Columbus and roll to the spots 4 x wide these days not so much,we all still know each other and get together in a great while,as i look back the Rx7 store was a place we would gather around and dyno and share information.
As Smokey said cars and coffee in Columbus is a decent turnout not for rotards especially,I may go every now and then and see a little bit everything.
3 of us in our modded Fd,s rolled out to Dayton CC last year it was 3X the size and puts Columbus to shame.
Maybe we could do something in Columbus as its the center of the state possibly meet up in a park or something and would get Dayton/Cincy/Cle and Cbus all together.

I'm strongly considering attending the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race this Sunday (5/6/2018) with my 6 year old daughter. If anyone is planning on attending, pls chime in.

I'll be there this weekend, should be a great event. If anyone is on the fence I'd say go for it, mid-ohio has a great layout for spectators if you've never been.
