i always being curious about it for ages because it's not limit like the piston engine and maybe can produce real horsepower way beyond 10000rpm maybe the problem in the end it's engine reliability anyway i want to know what the max rpm you see in a wankel?

with a **** load of porting, custom intake, full exhaust, scatter shield on the tranny, rotor clearancing and a lot of E-shaft work I have *heard* of guys running over 13k rpms. Never seen it unfortunately.

The PR guys have a habit of porting the **** out of an engine and running over 10k rpms. When the engine tanks they just rebuild.

Above 10 or 11K you will want to get a two piece excentric shaft with a center bearing. Supposedly it should eliminate crank flex.

My P.Port revs at 10500, shiftilight at 10000

Ive heard that they are pretty much just limited by how much you can push in and spit out. There are test rotary's with round rotors and a single seal thats on the housing instead of the rotor, they say it could rev to 20,000. We'll see if they ever prove that.

There's a multitude of things to overcome when talking about really revving high. The e-shaft flexes and causes the rotor tips to contact the irons, which is bad. Lightening and clearancing the rotors helps, a 2 piece e-shaft will also help with this. There's also problems with sealing, as you need light apex seals to prevent them from skipping along the housings. You also need to deal with the accessories lest they spin too fast and damage themselves, or in the case of the water pump, lest it cavitate. This includes the oil pump.

The biggest thing is that in order to make power at such levels you'd need some very extreme porting, and even with a PP there comes a point where going higher makes no sense as you'd have more power to the ground in the next lower gear because the power trailed off. So even if you could make it spin to 20,000 rpm or something like that, it probably wouldn't be making much power at all.

I know that above 9500 destructive harmonics set in on the factory stationary gears. A few guys in certain race classes here in NZ run over 11,000 for the whole sprint race. Thats NA 13bs,12as.

Heard of one goin to 20k then BOOM! Guy was probably all **** tho haha!

I've taken my 13b extend port to bout ten grand a few times, just wants to go higher but wuz missing due to **** spark methinks, got msd coils and 10mm leads seems to have solved it

There was a vid on youtube a while back I saw that had a supposed 6 rotor engine N/A producing like 900hp and reving to 17,000 (that's not a typo) unfortunately you only saw the car on a dyno reving up and no tachometer or engine shots so it probably was fake but the thing reved for a LONG time before shifting gears the person who posted gave the stats and said who build it and all but I can't seem to find the video anymore don't know where it has gone too.
