Change the oil regularly and check the oil level ever few fill-ups as rotary's inject oil into the housings. So if your system is running right you'll lose about a quart of oil every 3,000 miles.

Other than keeping up on tune up's i'd say redline it once a day to keep the carbon away. Seriously.

Try to let her warm up before you go anywhere, don't beat on her before she is totally warmed up, and don't be worried if you use a bit more than a quart in 3,000 miles. The oil usage is dependent on how you drive your car as at more throttle the car will inject more oil.

ive never really done anything special, these engines last forever provided that you have oil in it and dont overheat.

with a turbo or higher hp na, tuning becomes an issue in reliabilty, but theres no magic trick.

No offense but this post would get more attention in the 3rd gen section or the general rotary maintainence section. This is the NA performance section here.

You mean 2nd gen it's a 91. Just keep it up the oil changes like you've already heard.
