13B-PP dyno video
this was filmed in april 2010. There are a few things i have changed since this dyno and a couple more things i'm doing this winter. The car made 215rwhp this day.

Nothing quite like standing next to a bridgey or P-port on a dyno at 9500+ Rpm . Awesome man well done. I like the downward curved tailed-pipe, seems to save your rear bumper from the flames, my poor bumper is getting grilled. Oh and how did the temps go with being on the dyno that long? I want to take my car in for some more final tweaks and a final power figure but im worried about it getting hot, although if i find a place with a fan like that one I should be alright .

Keep tuning it and good job.

Sounds like it's only being revved to 7k or so.
What kind of dyno is that? An all-MFR peripheral port will be 260-300 crank HP depending on a few factors.
And then that's not considering a streetable exhaust will kill power (substantially) on a high overlap engine.
Just because one guy with a ton of time investment in port and runner tuning can get 400+ peak horsepower for a drag engine (runs for a handful of seconds at a time, doesn't need to be quiet or stay cool, doesn't need to be tractable at all outside of full throttle and the transmission's RPM window, etc) doesn't mean everybody else's engine "should" be making that much power too.
MY constructive criticism: 13.3 at 100mph? Something seriously does not add up. That is way too low an ET for only 100mph. Most cars hitting 100mph are running in the very high 13s or low 14s. 13.3 should see MPH in the 103-108 range.
Incidentally, I've noticed this many times in 1/4mi times out of the UK, makes me think that they either aren't running a true 1320, or they're measuring the time and/or MPH differently.
edit: Also, G-tech times WILL be off, but I'm not sure which way it goes. G-techs count the "rollout" period (it takes a tenth of a second or so after you start moving for you to trip the beam that starts the clock) and they measure speed at the end of 1320 feet, while a dragstrip will measure how long it takes for you to cross the last 60 feet, which will give you an average of your speed from 1260-1320.

But, it does that at 6800... and peak torque happens seriously low compared to a street port. And the "torque hump" is at 2000rpm, not 5500.

that is a true 13.3 at 100mph. It was ran at Mission raceway in Abbotsford, british columbia Canada. Mission raceway is a NHRA division 6 track which holds many NHRA events. We are running a true 1320. I hear 13.3 and 100mph is weird. I have had 13.36 at 102mph but the 13.326 is my best. It was a good run.
My exhaust system is getting changed this winter to a larger diameter pipe. It is dual 2" right now but is going to dual 2.5" this winter. I will retune the carb in the spring os 2011 in hopes of more power.
My dizzy is locked and set at 23 degrees.

^ Looks good to me. Quickness is all about hocking up. Something to consider! 215whp is the same as what a heavier stock Fd puts down and they trap 100mph also. MPH wise, I think the higher torque balances out the heaver Fd when compared to the less torquey lighter NA PP 1st gen (even though their making the same power).

255whp is good for 13b PP, but I find some are around 212whp for some reason.
Timing, choke & jetting can make a difference if your collector is the right length and bore.

The bigger size pipe MAY not give more whp but I could have it wrong.

Try adding some timming first 23* is good we run 28* and want to bump it up. Good luck and good job. Don't be afraid to add timming as long as your temps are cool and your A/R is were it should be.

Well i didn't really race at all this year. I did go to take the car out for one more night and i lost oil pressure. I'm pretty sure the o-ring on the front cover blew out as i have no pressure in the oil cooler return line. I'll find out in the spring when i pull the engine. I'm getting a new header from rotary-works and we'll build a new exhaust from that. I have some new jets and emulsion tubes coming. I hope next season i a fun one.

I will start off with a positive note...Car sounds amazing !! And the motor held on the dyno !! Can I ask why you had a guy standing Directly in front of the car waiting to be decapitated !?! I was praying to all that is holy that the straps would hold so i can continue watching your dyno in peace. Secondly why go through all that effort and the build, setup, Tune, annnnnnd Dyno if you didnt fix the prior oil regulation problem ? Is having blown seals a way of wankel life now ?
