Wouldn't happen to be the parts from my old SE that got damaged? IIRC correctly you pulled those parts right before it got hit by a nasty hail storm in 2006 lol. Seems like a lifetime ago now.

No this hail storm happened last summer. Got both of my cars pretty good. And no the parts I got from you are still good. Was the roof of the car and the turbo hoodI got for it was the worst part.
Good to hear someone is still out there. I got mine hiding out in my garage right now. Going to have to replace some radiator hoses mine are leaking very slightly. Other than that just have to get some miles on the engine.
Oh cool did you rebuild it? I got my intake manifold pulled off, doin a premix resivoir, rebuilding the omp and finishing replacing the vacuum lines. Along with cleaning off the 30+ years of gunk out the engine bay 😅
Would anyone be interested in getting a meet going here soon? Perhaps when the roads clear up a bit more.
It would be sweet to see other local 7’s!
Have another enthusiast here in Butte who picked up a rotary compression tester that’s willing to give others a test.
A meet could be cool. None have gone on since like 2008. I know there are a couple guys lift here in great falls. I'm not sure where anyone would be interested in meeting at. Great Falls was at the time the most central meet area. We had a two guys come from helena one from boseman and I think one from missoula and at that time we had like 4 to 6 guys here.
Ive looked back on these old post makes me miss the times back then. Not sure how many people look back on this thread but I come back time from time also and am trying to somewhat keep it alive. But I have had a lot going on these last few years say since 2015. I now have 2 children, moved from 3 different places the last being purchasing a home. I have had a pretty solid welding career in structural fabrication. I have made progress on the RX-7 as I have will post a few pictures of the things I have done to it lately. I decided to run a main front harness wire tuck which was super time consuming sorting out relays and unpinning wires i no longer used, rewrapping the harness and rerouting everything. I had to rebuild the engine or more or less replace the sideplates due to a cracked rear iron. I used a pineapple racing race port template, water seal kit and got a turblown engineering stud kit. While I had the engine out i sprayed the bay black with gold flake which turned out ok for a spray paint job. I installed a corbeau fixed seat I have another one I have yet to install. I recently removed a really worn pinstripe and polished and waxed the car to bring back the shine on the neglected paint. I have done sn install an fd high amp alternator and larger charging wires to help with electric fan loads. Then I just resoldered the idiot light and cpu connections so most of those work now including the clock. I also replaced the center surround and vents with the S5 version.
Glad to see the FC still hanging in there Matt! Definitely miss the old cruises we had way back in the day. Never will forget the first time me and my friend came across your FC when it was primered on 10th avenue haha.
This is about one of the only threads on this forum I still check in on, glad it's staying alive.
Congrats on the Childrens, House, and FC Goodies man!
I think Grandpa/Pat is selling his Red FC. Great car bad motor I think it might have Eibach springs or Racing Beat cannot remember It was Zacks car at that time and Pat still had Goldy.

Thanks man. I think the fc I have now is Zacks I work with him and whenever I take it to work he mentions to other coworkers it used to be his car. If I had extra monies and space I would like to consider owing that TII of Pats.

though this appears be a little dated thread: I live outside of Kalispell and own (original, for 35 yrs.) a 87' GXL. only really drive it in the Sumer since I moved here in 2019. love to meet other RX-7 owners and talk the cars.
There are a few of us RX-7 owners in the valley, I own a 3rd gen and used to own an 86 before I bought the 3rd gen.
Jeff at Larco Electric is a big RX enthusiast who also owns a 1st gen and a 3rd gen. He is very knowledgeable on all things rotary.
I bring my to some car shows from time to time and the Elevation group on FB has a lot of import owners, not sure if there are any rotary owners in that group though.
That’s an awesome find! I don’t remember the last time I heard of a FD going for that cheap. Hopefully it doesn’t need much to get it in a driving condition.
I keep telling myself to check the forum and when I typically do it's been months or around a year when someone posts. I would like to tend to this thread a bit more but I also understand there are fewer owners here and the state is very spread out. All we can do is try our best to keep it alive and keep everyone that's here in touch.
with you on that one. I keep looking for people in NW Montana to get together with ,but hard to do. I just trailered (car runs fine, I live at top of a mtn.) home from driving about 1,000 miles this summer, time to put it away for winter. Keep in touch, maybe next spring/summer we have better luck getting RX7 together in Montana.
agree, hibernation. I have a semi-heated garage for my 87' GXL so it is happy. being addicted to my Mazda.... when I did trailer it back to the property, could not help myself and started to work on little things, nothing serious car runs great. Mostly just improving what already works but I want the car perfect
Funny world. I'm from Bozeman but had to move to Kansas 'cuz ... well, Bozeman . Buy one, they're so much fun. If I can get my SA working I want to get it up the canyon, through Jackson Creek, and over Beartooth when I make one of my trips back for family.
