Front plate in Colorado?

So since moving to Fort Collins, I've been wondering: Are cops here hard-nosed about having a front license plate? Both the '7 and the Miata just look so much better without, but it's not worth being pulled over/cited all the time...

So Denver PD keeps pulling you over but they don't cite you? My new (to me) Miata looks so much better without a front plate...

yeah i think they just like to use it as an excuse to pull me over and see if i do anything worng or search my car.
but what i do is just throw the plate in my front window.
a lot of people i know do that.

I got pulled over several times in my turbo II for not having my front license plate mounted in fort collins but never got a ticket. Eventually they moved onto exhaust and eventually gave me a ticket.

(Crossing fingers) They haven't got me yet. Maybe it's because the Miata looks cute and harmless? I did get into a little stoplight drag with a Larimer County Sheriff in a Charger. I stayed with him to about 40, then he got me.

Nice. There's one that patrols by where I live. He's pretty cool, he came to check on me when I was showing my turbo II to a couple of dudes. He never pulled me over for exhaust or anything, I see him pretty often too.

I've never had anything but very positive interactions with local law enforcement. Fort Collins PD in particular have been surprisingly cool. I have seen some...overeager...enforcement down in Denver. Still, I don't care how shitty they can get here. It's never ANYTHING like California was...

I've been pulled over 3 times in Boulder for no front plate, but I haven't gotten a ticket. I just use the excuse that "there's nowhere to mount the plate and I'm not going to run sheet metal screws into the bumper of a classic car." Of course, the factory bracket is sitting in my garage.

Ive heard they're really bad in California, about... anything modified. I've had a few ******* cops in Fort Collins before, got ticketed for going five over up to Red Feather, where the speedlimits barely posted. I had no clue I was speeding and normally i'd be hauling *** up there but I had passed a Sheriff early on. So, I decided to go what i thought was the speed limit... Needless to say I was wrong, and he was not giving any breaks. /:
