I don't like flat black on any car. To me, it just looks primered/waiting for paint which = junky in my opinion.

Yeah, my favorite color for almost any car is gloss black; especially FD's.

Go for it. I think it looks good.
In any case, it's your car. Do what you want to it.

The picture you showed is more like a satan black and not a flat black.

But anyhow... My opinion (don't get offended because it is not directed at you in particular) is that the appearance of cars that people have painted flat black is another sign - another indication - of the drop in the level of class for a car. It is one more step down for a car because most people who do flat black cars say they want to do it because it is cool, but in reality, they are doing it to cover some problem that they can't really afford to fix with a good - proper paint job.

You know, maybe a flat black with a clear coat...maybe that'd look terrible. I think post people associate flatblack with spray paints and primer. It could look good...maybe...

No coments will be taken personally. I was kind of thinking about it and trying to get some feed back on what others thought. I think that i will be going with a straight jet black gloss more than likely. Thank you all for the input though.

The reason it is "flat black" is because it has no clear coat. Nothing shiny in the mix. If it was cleared, it would look more like the Honda in the pictures above.

personally i think that honda with its flat black paint job looks pretty good .. not everyone can afford 9k for a good paint job .. personally id rather dump money into making my car that much more realiable and running in tip top shape than exterior .. i myself was thinking bout primeing it black myself after getting jdm front end of course .. and keeping it that way until i could save up for a real paint job

At the SEMA show, flat black was the the new fad. It actually looks good if cleared.

Flat black is for ugly sleeper cars that you don't want anyone to get excited over or stealth bombers.

As long as it was done right I'd say it'd be cool...But a straight gloss black car is always gonna be better!...

And actually it is cleared, There's flattening agents added to it to produce many different levels of dullness, while still protecting the base colors.

I always liked the mad max look. Civic to me looks good you just need to accent it right and make it look clean cut.

Just to clarify, the civic pictured above is more of a satin than a flat.
