nebraska cars?
Hey guys I haven't posted on here in a while. Nice to see that there are more 7's on Omaha than I thought I have only seen probably 12 or so in the 3 years I have had mine. But like mostly everyone else mine is down for the count right now. I own and 86 N/A lost a seal on the rear rotor. Buying a master rebuild kit from atkinsrotory.com then buying a road race exhuast system from racingbeat.com. any one know of a good paint and body shop here in town that can take care of a rust problem on the right rear fenderwell?
Okay guys here is the deal have any of you ever rebuilt your self and how reliable is rotaryressurection.com anybody know. I have the money for the master kit and everything on atkinsrotary.com but I don't have a hydralic press to use the main bearing tool and rotar tool they are selling. I could either spend 1300 plus shipping to have him rebuild it or spend the same amount of money and try it my self.
Yes, rebuilt is easy if you take your time and read up/watch video on it.
I wouldn't worry about the bearings, you can always have a local machine shop press those in if it turns out yours need replacing. Mazda recommends that you DO NOT change them unless they are bad/damaged. That's what I do with mine.
Also unless you know what is wrong with your engine already you might be able to rebuild it for even less. If it's just leaking coolant that rebuild can be done for around $600-800, just the price of the gasket set and soft seals. Now if you've trashed a housing/rotor, that's a whole nother story.

I think I've rebuild 7 engines now, 3 for others and 4 for me. That doesn't include the 2 that I helped build up and reinstall from reman shortblocks or the one that I helped break down that someone (BHeiman) has yet to get parts to put back together. When he does that it will be 8 rebuilds.
Yeah, I'm still a rookie in terms of the shops, but I've rebuilt more than your average owner.

I mean, I bought them for weight savings and for safeties sake, that's the only reason. Uhh, yeah.
Im disappointed, I did not see any rx7s at the auto cross on March 29th. There was a blue rx8 there, but that was it. I had a really good event too. I ended up getting 4th fastest over all out of 102 entries. All this on 6 year old road race compound too. The next few events are at the lincoln air port. Should be a good time. Hope to see some of you guys out there sometime.
i will be present at said lincoln airport events, dunno about the car tho, and there was one first gen rx7 that I know of that was at the MAC event, apparently held FTD briefly.
Anyone know what the deal is with the SCCA event this weekend? Is there a regular solo event Sun. or do you have to do the whole evo class thing? Can't run the GSL-SE (oil cooler lines leaking, plus 193k miles) but I can drive our Suzuki SX4. I ran it at an autox there last fall and had fun.
Okay heres the deal guys. I wanna meet some of you. I just started on my 7 so it isnt the best, but there is a show here in Omaha on May 16 & 17 at the Digs on Old L st. We should get some 7's there.
let me know whos down.
