Late reply, but FD owner from Overland Park checking in!

I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to this damned car and I've had it almost 5 years.

 

So, my motor is getting torn down today. I bought my car from Alex Long in Wichita. If you know him, someone please give him a nice right hook to the jaw.

The guy traded his FD for my 04 STi (hail damage 140k miles). Didn't tell me the OMP was disconnected, because I'm pretty sure he didn't know it was. He also told me it was street ported and had larger injectors on the stock ECU. (This I knew was not correct from the get go).

Long story short, I ran the car without pre-mixing because I thought the OMP was connected. It wasn't. The seals ate the housings. So now I need new rotors and housings for the build. Also, it appears as if the motor had at one point caught fire. So I'm excited to see what else is wrong.

 

That sucks man....I'm in Wichita but I don't recognize the name Alex Long. Sent PM.

 

Im in Wichita, I've met Alex Long before... Knew he had and sold the FD, didn't know he was such a ******...

 

Im here in Lenexa. Id be down to meet with some 7 owners when it warms up. got another buddy whos working on building up a 7 too. hes had quite a few but doesnt have one at the moment.

I mean its about time to plan a spring RX meetup in Kansas. Let's start throwing ideas for days and locations around.

I think some Sunday in April in Emporia (kind of a mid way point for you KC/Wichita guys). What do you guys think?

 

I'm always down for a meet up. Good idea to start it now should give everyone plenty of time to be prepared for it!

And day in April will work. There's a meet in STL too hopefully some people will wanna cruise to.

How does Sunday, April 20th in Emporia sound?

 

Ugh, I WOULD pick Easter Sunday out of all of those days in April, huh? How about April 13th? I'll start a thread to get more attention.

Would love to go and meet up with some rx7 owners, but that's a bit far for me.... 6.5 hours one way lol

Liberal,ks it's 5 hours to wichita from here and I could do that. So if we ever get a meet going there that would be cool

Emporia numbers not looking so hot....considering my brother and I have to back out.

I am planning on hosting one in Wichita again. I'm thinking end of May....or June. Had a good turn out some years back when I put it in. Hope we can turn out a good number again.

 

I'm game for one in Wichita. Might even be able to talk my dad into bring out his fd and fb. That's three cars right there! Anyway, where were you thinking of doing this?

Sounds good. I would prefer Sunday over saturday because my main job likes to schedule me on saturdays a lot. If not I should be available after 4 on saturdays

 

Well crap, it's flag day so that's a no-go for me..... Just kidding.

Saturday or Sunday, both are good for me. Sunday would be nice for a cruise though.

As far as I know I am available all day that day. My fc is out of commission for a while but my fd can make it easily.

 

Hey fellas, just wanted to post up a couple pics of my FD I just picked up today. I'm in wichita so I hope to run into some fd owners in town. Probably wont be driving her too much to keep the miles down. I got lucky and found one within my budget and under 40k original miles.

abdrummer12 it doesn't look like much excitement for a meetup next weekend. Us Kansas rotary guys always seem to be pretty busy. I'm still down for a meet sometime though.

82BUCKET I'm still down with meeting up with you sometime in Newton and cruising around. Might be a little while until the summer heat dies down. The a/c in the FD doesn't always work correctly . I'm pretty sure the a/c from my FC is in some landfill somewhere.
