The local iowa 7's are holding a meet in Cedar Rapids on Sunday, 5/27/07. The meet will be held at Ellis Park like the past 2 years. Any and all surrounding 7's are welcome also.

I'll see what I can do. It might be tough to get it, since it's Memorial Day weekend, but I'll check. I think the rental period goes from 11:00 AM ntil 4:00 PM.

OK...here's the scoop. The Overlook Pavillion (the one we've been to in the past) is already booked. With that being Memorial Day weekend, most pavailions are already reserved. There were 3 I found available, and of those, the Creekside Pavillion at Noelridge Park sounded the best. Noelridge is a really nice park, and there should be plenty of parking. I didn't reserve it because the fee is non-refundable and I wanted to see if it was going to be ok with everyone first. Let me know as soon as possible, because I'm sure it will get reserved soon for that day. It's not by a river like the other place, but still a nice area. It's near the main branch of the Collins Credit Union if you know where that is. Just across Collins Road from the old Collins Plaza (now a Marriot I think).

I'd say that's fine. We don't really have a choice though but i'll have to go stop by the park sometime, maybe i'll go today.

 

do you have the white T2 with the LS1? that comes into oreilly's sometimes?

 

Anyone want to *buy* an RX-7 in Iowa? If mine's drivable by then, I might show up, but... current rate, I won't be there.

Any more input on the location? I've only seen one person comment, and don't want to spend the money if people are going to object to the location. I think we need to get this reserved as soon as possible if we want to use it...I'm sure it'l get reserved by someone soon, since that's Memorial Day weekend.

We took too long to make a decision guys...the Creekside Pavillion has already been reserved now. That was the last one available that sounded half way decent, so now we're going to have to come up with other ideas.

How about lake macbride? It's about 20 minutes south of cedar rapids, just north of North Liberty.

No matter what location is chosen, we'll need to consider the fact that it's Memorial Day weekend...all parks are going to be busy. That's good if we want the world to see our cars, but bad for finding a decent place to gather. It might be better to select a different day...just a thought.

Yea, I agree about the date...if we're going to move it, let's move it into June. We had it the second weekend in May the last two years, and it was totally crappy weather both times. Besides, the 13th is Mother's Day. I hate suggesting a date change because it's so hard for this group to make a decision, but if we want to make sure we get a decent place I think we're going to have to move it.

A Sunday works for me. I'm in Des Moines. I hope to have some repairs done, so my car can MAKE it to a 7 meet!

 

Well me and Rob are going down to Nopi which is on June 9th. What about moving it one weekend back so June 3rd?
