We're all set: June 3rd, 11:00 - 4:00, Lakeview Pavillion. The only problem with this one is that it floods sometimes, so we'll have to keep an eye on that when we get to late May. There are some rules and regulations here:

http://www.cedar-rapids.org/recreati...ental_info.asp

I'll try to remember to post these again when we get closer to the day. I need to be there at 11:00 to meet the park ranger to open it up, so don't everyone wait until noon or later to show up!

Rich

"Beer and Alcohol Policy

* No minors are served
* No beer is sold
* They are present during the entire event

Permits are issued at the Ambroz Recreation Center. The Police Department receives a copy of all beer permits and verifies compliance.

Thanks Rich. I'll stay with my brother in Cedar Rapids Saturday night to make sure i'm not late. How much did this pavillion cost???

And i'll try to get the MODS to change the date on the thread title so there's no confusion...

anyone going to this rx7 meet in des moines on may 19th which I think was organized by this thread http://www.mx6.com/forums/midwest-us...meet-07-a.html. here is a copy of the details

----------------------------------------

The details have been finalized! Quoting from Mazdaboyracer the member organizing the meet over at mx6.com .
"Well, I decided to start finalizing things here and I am pretty sure it's all a go for now. Our meet will be Saturday May 19, 2007. People can start showing up around 9:00 AM. As of now the meet will be held at Sugar Shack in Altoona. It is a 50's-60's styled diner and the owner loves cars. He sounds genuinely happy to have us there!
I have also reserved the Dyno at a local shop called Midstate Machine http://www.automotivemachineshop.com/index.shtml in Des Moines. Our time is 10/10:30 AM and will last about three or four hours depending on how many people plan on running on the dyno. I talked to Midstate and we worked out a group discount at $40 per person and is a very good deal. This would allow time to run a baseline and I think do a little tuning if desired. I need at least 4-5 people to get this group discount. If you are planning on dynoing then please let me know!

The Sugar Shack isn't far at all from Midstate Machine, so I think we will first meet in Altoona and then head to the dyno as a group. After our dyno session (around 12 or 1pm) we will head back to the Sugar Shack and get some lunch.
I figure then we can get to know oneanother a little better, do some car gawking, and just chill. Have a little car show of sorts maybe. Later we will head downtown Des Moines and go cruising that night!

Here's a link to Mapquest for the directions to Sugar Shack. http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...y=US&geodiff=1 Also the address for Suger Shack is: 100 8th St. SE Altoona, IA 50009. If anybody has any questions or concerns let me know."
Mazdaboyracer's E-mail is dj_terborg@hotmail.com if you have any questions. Bring your friends as all make/models of a cars are welcome. Also I would like to begin receiving confirmation from those that are attending.

I should be able to come. Thanks for organizing this, Rich. FYI for others, I am selling my 93 Red Touring. The thread for that is in the for sale section and also in another thread in this section. Most of you have seen it from last year.

Sign me up for the hotdogs. Sorry about the long absence from the forums, had a lifestyle change and lost my internet. I wish my car looked as good as last time, but I had a bitch back into me. Oh well, I already have a replacement fender.

I am going to try to make it to this. Neither of my 7's will be up and running for it, so I will probably have to bring my Scion over, but I want to see the other 7's here in Iowa.

Damnit Eric, you already caught me on that one!

I might be able to make it, but I'm not sure yet. If I am able to get off work I'll be there.

yeah, i need one for a turbo (or vert hood, whatever.) just the light weight aluminum hood latch, it has weaker springs so it doesnt take as much force to close the hood.
