Another Iowan here, I do not have a RX7 yet. Looking forward to getting in one though. Am I the only one around the Des Moines area?

There are a few people in Des Moines that have rx7s. There's a guy trying to sell my old one if you're looking for one. 90 red vert.

The best part about Eric's bumpers is they are already painted white although not the right one, they are white. He has S5 side moldings too (possibly).

Are you looking for something in particular?

I'm looking for some S5 NA rotors if anyone local has any.

I'm pretty sure Ian has a set of mint condition s5 n/a rotors.

I'm looking for mainly a long block that needs rebuilt but no broken apex seals.

I have the s4 n/a motor in my rx7 now ill be selling soon if anyone needs a drop in and go setup in a s4 n/a.

You're better off making a frankenstein so you get what you want.

Edog is moving so he would prolly cut u a good deal on some irons/housings.

I also have a garage full of Irons/housings/rotors that I'll never use (FC stuff).

How much for all the stuff to make a complete short block?

I'm not really interested in anything Frankenstein, I helped Brian swap the fd uim on his t2 and it never idled right and was really touchy. Don't want high compression boost setup either.

I think Jason is saying frankenstein between S4 and S5. Kind of like what I was talking about with the engine I was going to build for it - S5 rotating S4 irons to make a 4 port NA S5 streetported monster.

All you would need is S4 or S5 irons then you could rebuild your NA motor. You could pull ur diffusers/cut/or leave them in the housing. Maybe a front cover if you want to run stock turbo.

S4 NA are 9.4 CR and TII S5 and FD rotors are 9.0 so not noticibly higher than later turbo versions.

Of course you would need the LIM/UIM and S4 TII flywhel but those are very cheap.

Lots of options.

Oh yeah the flywheel. Hey Steve the engine you have has the T2 flywheel on it as well as the clutch from a T2. Both came from Brian lol.

Greg - I do still have the intake. I'll text you so you have my number.

There's nothing wrong with my motor, it actually runs awesome. I'm just going to pull it and sell it to put towards a turbo 2 motor.

Are the n/a rotors as tough as the turbo rotors? I was always under the impression they were weak.

I'm planning on not a stock turbo either.

They are the same "toughness" as any rotor.

It's the compression ratio that usually turns turbo charged crowd off - easier to go boom if you make a mistake.

I on the other hand - will go with 9.7 CR myself for low end and fuel mileage.

Plus the NA ports/diffusers/manifolds are not great for turbo charging.

With water and E85 it is now pretty common to turbo charge NA rotors.

After talking about it a little more it doesn't seem like a bad idea. The motor I have is in excellent shape so it'd be perfect for getting t2 irons and making a high comp turbo setup.

I think it'd be a fun town cruiser and auto x setup. Also be nice to not be as laggy like the Subaru was.

Holy crap, you "old" guys are still around? lol Sometimes I get bored and check to see if anyone is still here but I never post. Almost forgot my password as well.

Anyways, I love out in Des Moines now. Haven't gotten back into rotaries yet although I've worked on a few since I sold mine. Currently have a 2002 Audi S4 and a 2006 F-250 Powerstroke Amarillo Edition. S4 is very modded, truck goes out in a couple weeks to make it a little more "angry." Wouldn't mind finding a rolling shell to put a V8 into sometime.

Anyways, hope you guys are doing well.

Ian and I were just talking the other day we were wondering if you were still alive lol. Anyways what's your number? My brother is VERY interested in picking up a S4 like you have maybe you could give him a few pointers on what to look for or maybe you know somone that has one for sale?

This year we will all be getting together but we'll start talking about that once the weather starts to break.

Haha, yep! Still alive. Two kids and a girlfriend, working for a VW/Audi dealership, and staying very busy. Number is Five-Six-Three-590-5687. Should still be the same one as before. They are great cars when maintained but they can go south quickly. With that said I've rebuilt most of mine and it's one of the best all around daily drivers I've driven. There's a few around I've seen for sale, it just depends on what Brian wants to spend.

I would be up for a get together once it gets nicer out. With luck in the next couple months I should have the car and truck at a point where I can relax for a while and have some more free time. Would be perfect timing for a meet.

For 9k he should be able to land a decent one. Probably not quite one with bigger turbos, but for sure a well taken care of example. Ones that need work go for around 5k usually.
