wiring for x4?

another one of microtech's products i've got without any wirning info...nothing's labeled either.

so of the 6 pin connector (the outs), what does what?
and i guess the 4-prong receptical (which didn't even come with a connector) input, what does what?

i checked the website, and couldn't find any download info.

so if we say top right, top left, bottom right, bottom left, etc....
thanks

if you got a x4 you got a wiring digram,

the 4 pin goes to the ecu check the wiring loom as there will be a short 4 pin plug on the loom,

use the coil wiring to wire the 6 pin plug the same as a LTX8

it's on a buddies car.

i got a box with the ecu and the x4 in it..

if i just started plugging wires in with the timig locked, i'm sure i could figure it out...there aren't all that many choices. i'm just not totally sure if i'd risk damaging anything by wiring it up improperly.

i'm absolutely shocked microtech couldn't help me out!! maybe it's possible i accidentally emailed customer service instead of tech support or something like that.
but thanks a lot for your help bro.

here we go--
microtech emailed me back again. they still don't have a wiring diagram, but it doesn't matter anyway, since they said it won't work with the ecu.

yea--i guess i should have started with that.
sorry about that.

it is an lt12s configured for s4/5 rx7. it's on a cosmo motor, but i'd assume that doesn't matter.

i was under the impression that the x4 was an actual ignitor and could be used to replace the factory ignitors. but since i was just told otherwise, i'm having my doubts now.

thanks again for the help.

it wont work as the LT12s will be configured for 3 ouputs, the x4 is setup to run 4 coils, so you will need to get a X3 as such basically the igniters charge off each other and when you take one out of the loop you will be stuck with only 2 working

now i just found this on the site:

the X4 and X6 Ignition Module Boxes are used in direct fire applications. The X4 has 4 channel output (4 cyl outputs) and X6 has 6 outputs. These are used in conjunction with LT10S and LT12S ECU's . We have chosen to now run external boxes rather than internal igniters as we once did , enabling us to run more advanced hardware on the boards to cope with our new IGBT Ignition boost function which is available on LT10S and LT12S ECU's as a standard feature.

i dunno, but microtech said it won't work--even though they say it will on their website.

does anyone know if you have to get your microtech specifically set up for use with the x4/6 boxes?

Dale got back to me and told me everything is fine for my setup, because i ordered the microtech for the aftermarket coils. I went with the LT12S because I wanted the wideband datalogging capability. Otherwise I would have just ordered the LT8.

^ straight from microtech. he's a dealer.

if i have a problem with my 10 when it gets in, i'm just gonna scrap the idea and grab a haltech e8. i was migrating over to microtech because i was tired of the problems with the haltechs, but i guess every ems is gonna have its own can of worms.
