what is with Microtech?
Ok...I'm kinda pissed off right now with Microtech. They seemed to have jacked up their re-configure price from $210 to $360 US. That's ****** ridiculous.
$360 ****** dollars to re-configure and I'm not talking about a whole ****** different EMS. I wanted to try a different EMS from this Microtech and have a buyer for it for a different car. I got a quote for $360 ****** dollars....that's fucked.
Someone on this forum said something around $120...so it went from $120 to $210 to $360. FAAWWCKK
Right now Haltech seems like a nice choice since you don't have to deal with this bullshit.

It's because the US dollar has really weekened compared to the Aussie Dollar. 1 usd is like .80AUD, not to long ago it was 1 usd equal to .50 aud.
go to xe.com to see the current conversion

There are 3 issues here:
1) AU dollar vs. US dollar.
2) AU taxes, tarrifs, and shipping. BTW, beware if they tell you to send it in an unmarked box with no insurance in order to get past their protectionist tariffs, as this will leave you with no recourse if it gets lost or stolen, even though the shipping is less expensive.
3) The Microtech EMS line is NOT intended to be universal in nature. In a way this makes things easier and less expensive for customers, and in a way it makes things more difficult and more expensive for customers. You just happen to have found out the downside the hard way. Sorry, but you are better off selling it to an RX-7 owner.

BTW, using vulgarity in a thread title is against the forum rules, and we would like to discourage vulgarity in the rest of the post. Although you have good reason to be upset, I am sure that you can find an effective way to express yourself without the vulgarities. I edited the thread title. Forum rules here:
