MT8 can handle these mods?

To those who are fimiliar with the MT8.

Will it be safe to put a midpipe with the MT8. I've seen all over this forum about not to put a midpipe without an ECU, since I have the MT8 lying around I might as well use it. I don't know if the MT8 can prevent boost spikes/creep when the midpipe is on. Or should I get a boost controller(profec B) with/instead the MT8.

from what i understand the mt8 is a fuel computer so it wont have anything to do with the boost. if im right then the mt8 can support whatever boost you wanna run givin you got the neccesary fuel requirements.

Yes it will handle it, the MT8 is fuel ONLY. And yes it does know to sense boost with it's built in map senser. The MTX8 or LTX8 otherwise known controls both timing and fuel. The MT is a piggyback system that runs your injection system only.

um where did you get your info from?? it is infact totally wrong the MT8 is a fuel and ign ecu just the same as the LT8 LTX8 MTX8 etc, the MT8 is the eairler version of the LT8, the only difference between the MT8 and MTX8 and LTX8 is the MT8 requires you to use the factory FC ign coils with the FC igniters,

So the MT8 controls fuel and timing? If it does then I'm cheering! I was going to sell my MT8 .

All I need is a boostcontroller now. Thanks guys.

Is there a disadvantage of using the factory coils and igniters? Can I get aftermarket ones and still use the MT8?

I think it's generally accepted that the stock coils and ignitors are good past the 400hp range. You start getting past 500hp then I'd start thinking of getting different ones.
