Lt8s idle

My ignition wire went bad and went on and off severl times, I replaced it but now My car idles at 3000 rpm The throttle plate are closed! Error check OK Tps reads OK too The ground pin on the ecu looks to be slightly brown Like it has been over heated.
Any one got any ideas , Should I send it back to Microtech oris there anything else to check.

Thanks Johny

you sure you don't have a vaccum leak some where?
I can't see the engine reving to 3k with out air from the TB so I' m guessing that you have a leak somewhere.

the engine must be getting air from somewhere? are you sure the TB is closed?
no way the engine can rev to 3k without air. check the throttle cable...it might be stuck?

try again...

either the throttle plates are slightly sticking open or you have a vacuum leak somewhere post the throttle plates.

a problem with the control system can only really lower the idle not raise it much. timing can increase idle by maybe a few hundred RPMs if it is advanced enough(not safe for detonation purposes) but no way can it raise the idle by several thousand RPMs.

Maybe Im missing something, The car was running fine up until now. Nothing has been changed. I did take off the elbow to look at throttle plates. Also the TPS is reading 0.0% and the idle screw is hitting the stop. I have a modded throttle body with only one set of plates. No thermowax dashpot ect. also no emissions there is virtually no place for it to leak vacuum.

My guess the there is a problem with the Microtech in the MAP sensor circuit and the ecu is seeing the wrong MAP (although it does read correct) and raising idle.

I have another throttle body (stock) should I try it .

I have somewhat the same problem. Try messing around with the idle values. That helped me somewhat. I notice that my butterflies are opened a tiny bit like 0,5mm I dont think that this is the case. Ive sprayed liquid around parts that I suspected but to no avail.

make sure you did this right, If not done correctly the linkage could hang and you would get about a 3k idle.

I also did the TB mod.

Something is holding the throttle open.

You WiN!

Upon removing the trottle body there was a shaving holding the to butterfly open ever so slightly.
It appeadrs to be a piece of aluminum from the I/C piping maybe wher I tapped for the temp sensor or the water inj.

I dont know why Im so quick to blame the microtech I guess its because I had an electircal problen first and thought maybe It shorted something out internally.

So Im up running again I just need to reassemble the interior

Thanks again everyone, The people on the forum have not let me down yet.
