lt8 setup
Hi,
I've just installed a lt8 into my s4 13bt. I wired it up so that it was plug & play, by using the plug from a stock ecu.
Now I've installed it & put a base map onto it with a dash unit, but it cranks & wont start. I checked that the fuel pump was working (it was), & when I checked my spark with one of those spark indicators the coils only sparked when the ignition was initially turned to the start position & then after cranking when the key was taken from the star position.
I then enabled the 0 cyl/r TEST ON function in screen 32 (I think), which causes the coils to fire & I was getting spark. I did get a error code of 6 flashes of the red LED once this was done, but I dunno what that means either.
This leads me to believe that its wired up correctly, but theres a setting which is incorrectly entered & wont allow the car to start.
Has anyone got any ideas which settings could cause my starting problems?
Also on the the screen that say 'microtech lt8 series4 v1.0' the series4 v1.0 flashes with the words 'base in", does this mean anything.
And also when I crank it the yellow LED doesnt flash like I think its supposed to.
Any takers????

I just noticed that on my dash unit in screens 23-25 (t degree rpm, t degree map & t degree air) that the current display flashes with the words 't chk' & then 00 degrees. Does this mean that my wiring to the coils is not correct?
I'm pretty sure I've done it correctly, but I guess it could be wrong.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I wanna get her running whilest I've got time off work

I would double check the TPS wiring. Also make sure that the Igntion switch is properly installed to a leading wire. The yellow light should blink while you crank the engine. If it doesnt its not sparking, or you have the TPS wire hooked up wrong.

I calibrated the TPS on the dash unit, but with my foot flat (WOT) the display only reads 42%??? Does that mean that the TPS is hooked up incorrectly?
All the stock wiring is wired up, I'm just tapping into it at the stock ecu plug location. Thus the stock ignition wiring is still hooked up to the coils etc. Thats why I cant understand why it isn working.
EDIT: I jst realised that if the dash unti is removed then the yellow LED comes on, which means that the TPS isnt calibrated correctly (according to the manual). I think I may wire the TPS outputs straight to the TPS, instead of at the stock ecu plug, & see if that helps.
