why spend so much money and they dont even start in the cold
there should be a parameter for cold climates

Huh?

Microtechs have a cold cranking map and air/water timing/fuel temperature correction maps like any other ECU. They also have afterstart enrichment like all other ECUs.

Where are you getting this misinformation?

It has been in the 20s all week long and my car starts right up and is not even 100% tuned.
Water map and Air temp map adjust them maybe you are not getting enough fuel or getting to much.

It needs to be tuned, plain and simple. The ECU was probably tuned in warm weather and then left alone. An experienced tuner can guess well enough based on previous settings, but all the fine tuning needs to be done in the appropriate conditions.

The process is the same regardless of the ECU used. Even if it is something as archaic as the Microtech.

My brother has the lt-8s and he dd's it. It was in the 30's in riverside a couple weeks ago and his car starts up fine.

it basically a surprise when my brother bought the car and the seller did not say there was a micotech in there ..we have no clue on microtech ..so we tried to do some research but still could not get the car to start in the cold
so now we have the manual we just dont understand where we should start
we have a tuner t&r but they do haltech all we need is a map to get it started

or some base parameters to go by and adjust accordingly

What happens when you try to start the car?

Does it crank forever and not catch?

Does it start and then immediately stall?

Please describe in detail what the issue is and we can suggest settings to change.
