FYI about fuel pump wiring from haynes wiring diagrams
do not patch into the blue wire on the harness under the carpet at the pump module. the positive lead to the pump is a Black/White wire.
i ran into a problem with the install i recently did where i ran the supply to the pump to that blue wire, if you leave the other wires as is the circuit opening relay will still trigger the pump for a few seconds while cranking, enough to start the engine and if you richen up the mixture enough you can actually get the car to idle and open up with 0 fuel pressure (vacuum through the injectors can pull fuel from the tank) and cause headaches in trying to find the cause of a severe hesitation when opening the throttle and extremely tough to tune idle map.
the blue wire they reference is a short blue wire from that black/white lead to the pump...
i hope with this no one else will run into this issue.
BTW, whoever did the wiring schematics for Haynes can blow me!

the best way imo is to run a new wire the whole length to the pump and patch it in in the hatch area.
you have to remember the wiring in the car is a decade and a half old.

Good info Karack! I wound up running a whole new wire straight off the battery, through the relay to the pump. Very simple....hardest part is removing the interior pieces but I think it's worth it.
