Driveability Issues with Microtech?

I'm about to purchase a microtech unit. What sort of driveability issues show up and how do you go about fixing them?

A friend has an electromotive unit which required about a year's worth of back yard tuning to get it where he likes it. I know microtech gives you a base map based on your setup, but how good is it? How long should I expect to have to work on this?

Also, if using a wideband O2 and datalogging are a fundamental part of tuning (and fixing driveability issues), why would anyone purchase an LTX8 over and LTX12?

as long as the tune is good you wont have any drivability issues, you can put 1600cc primarys in and you wont have a problem, you just got my mates car running with 2x1000 and 2x1600 PRIMARY injectors 4x1600cc secondarys and 2x1600cc aux injectors running off a LTx12s and it idles perfecly and drives like a treat

for wide band data logging you need a LT10s or LT12s,

Dale

you would have to trim the inj ms pretty good if you want to idle with 1600
the microtech factory setting run a little rich with 550 on primaries

no it dosent,

you can hook the microtech wide band controller up to it for logging and displaying AFR on handset or laptop, this is a $600au option which includes the LSU4 sensor, wiring looms, LSU controller box etc, but no display, the display can be purchased at a later date and plugged in

550's and 1600's no stumbles in any range of throttle. Just have to lean out or richen the maps on the street. G
