About to buy...what info??

Hey guys,

Ive come across an opportunity to purchase a used system, a MT8. All i know of the system so far is that its 2yrs old, i haven't had a chance to find out more yet. Which is why im here, what should i ask and look for with this system? I know this system works ive witnessed several cars do very impressive numbers with it....thats a big part as to why i want it. I was planning on getting one later on but at the price this thing is going for i don't want to let it go. Also what is needed for the install and proper working conditions, this is for a street car which maybe taken to the track every now and then. Any input will be very helpful, thanks guys.

Damian

if you read the last few posts theirs alot of installation information on what parts are needed since the group buy ecu's just came in everyone's been wiring them up.

What is the MT8 for? is it for an Rx-7? What map sensor does it have? I'd suggest checking the wiring harness to see how badly hacked if hacked at all it is.

Make sure it is off the same model car as yours, if not you will have to get it reconfigured, this is $200au, if it is off the same car i would reccomend you check the harness really well,

also it can be upgraded to LT8 specs for $200au as well

Not yet.

Right now, it's got to be shipped back to Aus.

JB has a FD so
It would not work on your FC
unless you send it back to AUS
and unless JB bought it for a FC (doubtful)

Im assuming that you are referring to John.....if so according to him he says that i will not need it reconfigured for my FC. If this is correct or incorrect i would appreciate an answer. Thanks again for the input guys.

If he has an FD, you will need to have it reconfigured to run your FC. The FC has a CAS, while the FD has a crank trigger - they're different setups. That is, unless you're installing a 13B-RE(W) into your FC.
