The megasquirt lights up when plugged into my car.. but when i try to connect it with my laptop it wont work. Could it be the cable im using or another problem?

Does the serial port work on the laptop?

What is the error you are receiving?

Is the COM port set up correctly in Megatune?

Is Megatune configured correctly for your firmware and 'Squirt version?

Some information other then "it won't work" is necessary to help you with your problem.

 

Have a stimulator? If you can plug in the stimulator to the squirt and the db9 to the laptop and you connect its not the cable

You need to select the port to which the 'Squirt is connected.

 

Go to the Device Manager on your laptop and it'll say which # the COM port is in there.
