Megasquirt No spark!
No spark!
I'm not getting any spark so I went out to test and check things today.
All the wiring is in the correct pin position on the connector, checked that first. Every wire has continuity from the MS connector to its location. I took off the spark plug wires and hung them over the side, then removed the CAS, connected battery cable, turned ignition key to ON. I then checked the TAN 12v+ wire on the leading coil versus the pink wire that runs to the MS and it shows 12v, like it should.
Then I grabbed the CAS and spun the bottom gear with the plug wires removed, and doing this caused the fuel pump to turn on and fuel to get injected (saw the FPR gauge rise). So I must assume RPM is being detected, right? Since as I spin the gear fuel is injected, and stuff turns on. Either way it seems to be detecting the CAS alright too.
I have not plugged the computer in yet during the diagnosis of all this because my laptop doesn't have a serial port, so I need to go buy an adapter.
Any ideas so far? All the wiring and such seems to be fine... so I'm kind of lost at this point. Maybe something in my tune isn't right?
Thanks for any help.

Let us know when it's hooked up and I'll help you get it working.
I HAVE seen cases where having the Ne and G signals going into the megasquirt backwards can cause what you're seeing... basically you'll seem to have an rpm signal, but there won't be any spark.

dDub, I had a simular problem but with a different ECU last month. All my wiring was good as well. My CAS was also good. It turned out to be the igniters in the coils...both leading andtrailing. It seems thier quite sensitive. Im not sure what caused them to go bad all at once but it happened. Thinking back maybe I powered them before applying ground...not 100% on this. Anyways I found a set on ebay for 40.00 waited forever and then installed them and everything worked once again. When installing the new set I added a ground wire to each coil mounting bracket and cleaned all ground connections. Double check your grounds and make sure the condensor is hooked up/working. Maybe I helped maybe not but I tried. Good luck.
Thanks for the suggestions, but grounds are definitely not the issue. My grounds have been good and upgraded for a long time, and I added the extra grounds to the coils long ago heh.
I talked to muy over aim and he gave me some stuff to check, which I will do tomorrow.
