msq file for street port 13B , 4 low imp inj

I'm helping out a friend get his car running on a MSnS, V2.2 board running fuel only for now with latest firmware. I've gone through trying to set the constants etc and the car will almost start. The ignition has been fine with a carb so I can rule it out (sort of, for now) Tach signal is coming from the MSD box so it can hopefully be ruled out as clean. Engine is cranking at around 290rpm and I've set the cranking threshold up a bit. It seems to be rich but when I lean things out it doesn't help. Plugs get wet, fuel smell from the exhaust, even a couple flame ***** out the back.

The car has a big street port 13B with four stock low imp injectors, no flyback board at this point. I've found all kinds of different msq files but none seem to be close to this set up as the numbers are way different on all of them. Most files I've found are for two injectors, can these be quickly adjusted for 4 in the constants page and work?

I've messed with required fuel and PWM and I seem to be chasing my tail.

If you do not have the flyback board then set your PWM to 75%.

I think 8.0 is a good req*fuel for quads. I think..

You could try unplugging the injectors and trying to start the car on carb cleaner. This verifies that everything else is okay. You can also use carb cleaner to start the car with and get it idling half decent and then go back and work on cranking.

Thanks peejay, I had tried all different required fuel numbers from around 7 to 10 and finally decided to look elsewhere for the problem.
Today I showed up at the shop and my friend was just putting the compression guage away. The back rotor only had 30psi on two faces so I'd be willing to bet 5 forum bucks that has been a bigger problem than too much fuel from the MS.
Its a fresh rebuild that he did himself, he thought after helping me with a few assemblies he would try it himself.
He spent the afternoon pulling the engine and I figure we'll find something simple. Luckily its the rear rotor so it doesn't require a full tear down.

Sure it's not just flooded from not being able to start?

There's a TSB on RX-8s regarding low compression, like really low numbers... it's due to bad coils. Change the coils, compression comes back up. Voodoo, man.

Coils making compression!?! Now I've heard everything strange about rotarys.

I guess I'll find out tomorrow if there is anything obvious inside the rear housing. He was a little upset as I left him today. He had just gotten done with the comp check when I showed up today so it was checked before we started cranking with the MS hooked up(I had it with me checking stuff over night).

He sent me an email this evening saying he had the engine out and on the stand. I'll go over in the morning, do the autopsy and get it ready to be put back in. Its a race car so an R-n-R on the driveline is pretty easy.

Hopefully it's something simple such as a forgotten apex seal end piece or spring

He took it apart the other day and says he didn't find anything that looked wrong. I just saw the back rotor all spread out on the table and everything was there. He put it back together and its back in the car. I'm going to go over and try to squirt it tomorrow.

He did spin it by hand to make sure he had the right number of thumps this time.
