Megasquirt MS with a 36-1 crank trigger?
MS with a 36-1 crank trigger?
I searched, but didnt have much luck with this. Would there be any advantage to running a 36-1 or similar crank trigger instead of the stock FC/FD crank triggers with the megasquirt?
Also whats the difference between square teeth and pointed teeth for a VR crank trigger?

Someone who is more intimately familiar with the trigger code probably has a different answer, but in my opinion:
Advantages:
-potentially a more accurate signal as there are more teeth and the trigger wheel is mounted directly to the eccentric instead of through a CAS (no CAS on an FD though, just a trigger wheel and two sensors)
Disadvantages
-need to fab it up
-could be more noise prone. In my experience, missing tooth wheels are harder to get right due to high tooth counts and the ease at which the ECU confuses noise for the missing tooth.
