MS-1 V3.0 second VR sensor conditioner question.

In the FAQ it says to keep in mind that the 56K resistor should be replaced with a 39K resistor, and the .001 capacitor should be exchanged for a .01 capacitor. It also says you'll want to create the right side of the above schematic in the proto area on the V3.0 board.

I just want to double check myself here...

When It's all over with I should end up with something like this.....

Is this accurate?

No, the 39K resistor should be an 82k resistor. The note to change to a 39k resistor was only if you're using a dual lm1815 circuit to condition both the Ne signal and the G signal.

If you're only using an lm1815 to condition the G signal, then you should just take the entire right side of the circuit as it is.... or just use an 82k resistor in place of the 39k resistor in the diagram you created.

also, the short to ground you posted isnt actually a short. The wire from 5v to pin 8 of the LM1815 on the left crosses, but does not connect with, the wires from pins 9 and 11 to ground.

Ahh yes, good catch, I hadn't noticed that in his original diagram, the one he created didn't have that short though.

not really sure how to read these diagrams. I know for the 3.0 Version you can make it in the proto area, does anyone have pics of this or can anyone explain it to me... super newb...

Just went to my local Radio Shack and found out either I have no clue how to read some of the packages or they just dont have what i need to build this second circuit.

Basicly I went there ans started looking at the resistors, they only had the 4.7K 1/4 watt resistor. The other 3 "82K, 18K, 1M" they didnt have. As far as the caps they were all packed with part numbers. They had internet access there so i went to the digikey.com site but in order to look there you also need the part number. The guy there was driving me nuts so i didnt lok up anything they had because that would have taken me some time.

So i'm asking for help once again, does any one know exactly what i need when i walk in radio shack, or a site i can order this stuff from? I'm guessing when i ask for this stuff i need that part number.

In the old days Radio Shack would have been a suitable source for these parts. Times have changed. Find a local electronics supplier, and go there with your list. Every city should have at least one. Let your fingers do the walking...

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend going to radio shack, Most of them should have most of the resistors and capacitors (the ones in my area do), but I'm willing to bet that none of them have the lm1815.

Digikey is going to charge you a handling fee if you do a really small order too, so that'll make your cost a lot higher.
