Looking for advice 13B PP race car
Ok so here is the car. It is a RX8 with a PP 13B. This is not a rennisis but a true old school PP. It is set up now with a Weber 51.5 IDA but I would like to eventually like to inject it. I like the idea of MS and am leaning that way. I used to have a SCCA EP FC race car and had a MS on that but never got it going completely. It was a huge task just getting it started. I want to avoid that this time. has anyone done something like this? What would you suggest for hardware? Is there a "dream set up" that would work best? Looking forward to hearing from the guys who know best.
Thanks.
Thanks.
If you want to go fuel only and just replace the carbs that would be VERY easy to do.
Many people have done fuel-only installs... All you would really need to do is make sure you wire your primary injectors to injector channel 1, secondaries to channel 2, and use one of the later versions of ms2/extra which has new staging code that gives really smooth stage.
If you want to do ignition, it's a bit more difficult, but still easily doable. For that I'd recommend going with the stock CAS to trigger, and whatever setup you want for coils.

How are you doing ignition now? Looks like a distributor with some aftermarket coils but I can't tell for sure from the pics.
You will end up using the same box for both fuel and ignition. If you intend to go with ignition and fuel control, I recommend just doing it from the start with both. There are modifications necessary to the v3 board to run ignition that are somewhat involved, and the v3 board has to be set up differently to read a CAS than it does to read RPM from the coil - terminal, so it's better to pick fuel or pick fuel+spark, and stick with it.

Yes it's an old school dizzy and it works great. I really want to avoid the hell that I went through before just getting the EP car running. The cold start map seems to be the most difficult. But that was seven years ago and I have not touched a MS since. I have to believe that the tuning end of things would be easier now.

If you're trying to control ignition then I'd recommend going with the stock CAS to trigger it, and whatever coils you want.
If you just stick with the ignition setup you have now, then you can just run fuel-only... That is really easy to set up.
