If your haltech isn't broke I would not bother. Sure ms3 has some very cool and neat features but is it worth the trouble changing over. Most people use ms3 for the DIY fun factor and cheaper price. I have had pretty good luck using it over the last 5 years and learned way more then I can imagine about tuning and electronics. Download tunerstudio and check out the features would be the best way for you to compare the two.

Disagree.

Does Haltech's firmware developer post on this forum? I am one of the MS2/MS3 firmware developers, and I post here.

The benefit there is that when people ask for features, they go into my TODO list (assuming they make sense) and I implement them.

Not only that, many of the features we have allow you to run a 2nd gen or later rx7 much more smoothly than other ECUs. I don't think many of them have our table-based staging feature for example, and I've had several comments that people have never had smoother staging than with the table based. You essentially can't tell it staged in any situation.

I use microsquirts for my instals because Im not that good with electronics and works perfect and the staging table is super easy to tune and you cant tell if is taged or not!!The new V3.0 works better with vr sensors and read the stock cas as is...

Jamie, if you want to upgrade, call or stop by. I got you covered with the friends and family deal.

Kinda off topic given the question.

In any case, I'd say if you're interested in learning how your engine and EFI systems actually work, go ahead and put an MS3 on there. In my experience it's easier to get an MS3 to run the engine more smoothly than many other aftermarket EMSs, but if you're not unhappy with your current setup, don't change it just to change it. As far as power output goes, I'd not expect any change in power output between any 2 properly-tuned EMSs.
