i raced a 9000 turbo and beat it tonight it was pretty quick tho it was beatin mefrom about 30mph to 40/45 mph but once i got into third gear the race was mine .. how should a 9000 turbo stack up to my fc??? mines an 87 gxl

what mods do you have? The saab without the turbo would not be fast though.

Actually, SAAB are the worst makers of turbos through out the industry. They were the first to manufacture it stock and they still dont have it today. Even the new ones suffer from terrible lag between gears. First thing you do when you buy one is add a BOV...

I have a stock 9000 turbo. They have tq but not much high end. Their is a whole lot of aftermarket mods for them. 280whp on the stock garret t25 is common. I personally think they are fun and good looking cars.

And actually, the stock turbos are wonderful on these cars. Last 200K miles no prob. The supporing components is what needs work.

 

Some guy around here has two. Both are turbos, as said terrible lag between gears. From a dig I can pull three lengths on them, if we go from a 40 mph roll he has the obvious advantage in his "slightly" modified one. So I ignore him until we catch a light.

 

how is a garrett turbo a bad turbo? other than the fact that the compressor wheel is the size of my fist, its still a garrett.
