93 RX-7 vs. 07 Corvette Z06
I was cruising down the interstate out here coming home from work and I spot a beautiful black car up ahead but I can't really see what it is. I just keep cruising and eyeing the car ahead. I look around and speed up a little to see if I can catch a glimpse at what that is... I speed up some more and see it is the famed 505HP Z06 Corvette. I cruise up a little more and pull up next to him and slow to his speed. I look over and see a mid 30's male driving and I nod to him. He nods back and continues at his speed. I rev a little and he still continues at a slow pace. I figure well he doesn't know what kind of car this is and probably thinks this is a slower car. So I look around and see it's pretty clear ahead and behind. I down shirt into 4th gear just to give her a little shout and speed up a little. He responds by speeding up a little bit more. I think to myself well I guess he sees I'm a worthy challenge. He speed up next to me and goes by. I give my car some gas and he takes off. I think well damn hes not going to give me a chance for a even race... So I slam 3rd wide open and we hit 125-130 but he pulled off on me and I couldn't catch back up. So I idle back a little and he slows down and to my surprise pulls right back up beside me and gives me a throttle blip. I point forward and down shift to slow down. I'm now running ~6k in 3rd and he honks 3 times and I mash the gas down just as he does, perfect start. I rev out almost instantly and shift 4th. I watch the revs climb fast and I watch his rear tire come into view. I watch inch by inch of his beautiful black Z06 fall back and by the time I hit 6k I was looking at his front tire. I ran 4th gear up and up til I saw the 8 come into the needles view and I see his front bumper fading out of view. I couldn't believe what just happened and apparently neither could the Z06 owner, because he was screaming with joy and had both his thumbs up like a 5 year old kid. He follows me off on my exit but then just as I stop he pulls a U-turn and heads back to the interstate. Best race I've ever had.

Interesting. So you have minor bolt-ons and 12 psi on the stock twins....about 350 horsepower? The other car has 200 more horsepower, and only weighs 300 lbs more and is just as aerodynamic with a 198 mph proven top speed.
I say good job, sounds like a cool race and be careful. I also beat one of those at the track when they first came out, but my car had 100 more horsepower than yours.

Will work for horsepower
On ls1 tech the record with just slicks and very good driver it runs 10.88 1/4 mile. I have out run one easy on the street but from a pull on the highway after about 120 mph he would say good by in a hurry. I dont like to call someone a story teller but id have to see it to belive it!

He didnt take it to 7000. No way.. Probably shifted at 4500. My cars feels like the same power at 7500 as the c6 zo6 at 5500. The redline on them is 7000. Sounds you had fun though. G

2 things happened here.
1: You're bullshitting and this never happened, or it did but the outcome was totally opposite.
2: The Z driver wasnt even racing, he was probably on the phone or getting some head from his hot GF and it felt soo good, he was toying his throttle a bit.

If not, you didnt beat him or he wasnt racing.
These cars are insanely fast, people underestimate them. And the one in the video is an 06.

2 things happened here.

It's like if someone says "I beat _ car in my Fd" certain forum members are always super quick to say some crap like "well he still probably gets better gas mileage" or point out that the other car would be faster with just a few mods, anything but just giving credit for a kill and keeping it moving. You act as if the guy said Rx-7's are Gods and Z06's are ****. He didn't, he said he walked away from one, slightly. What's not to believe? Maybe it was a bad driver, maybe it was a bad example of a Z06, maybe he's full of crap, who knows? Or MAYBE his modded Rx-7 (which are can be pretty fast cars believe it or not) just slightly edged out a stock Z06. Ask yourself; if you were driving your 7 and someone in a car that you know you should be able to dust with no problem (a turbo Neon for example) pulls up to you, revs and punches it, would you take it up to 120/130 mph and LET him pull on you??? Do you even LIKE Rx-7's?? I've never seen an Rx-7 owner defend any and everything BUT the Rx-7 as much as you and maybe jimlab. I mean it's not like you act like everything else is God like, but you sure as hell act like everything else is better than (or at least faster than) the 7.
It's like if someone says "I beat _ car in my Fd" certain forum members are always super quick to say some crap like "well he still probably gets better gas mileage" or point out that the other car would be faster with just a few mods, anything but just giving credit for a kill and keeping it moving. Both you AND jimlab confuse swinging from every Rx-7's competitor's sack with "KEEPING IT REAL".
You didn't "keep it real" by saying the Z06 is fast. Being that we're all adults, we all know this and don't need you to tell us.
And if you think that it's IMPOSSIBLE for a modded Rx-7 to beat the Z06 or do half of the other owner claims that you and jim try to shoot down, then you two are the ones living in a fantasy world. And THAT's "real".

there is no way i believe this story. the fd is probbably makin 300rwhp max. whoever said 350 is on crack. i bet the fd runs a solid 12.7 @ 110mph on a good run. Listen dude if this guy was reacing he would eat ur ***. wake up! and who lists the fan mod as a mod in a sig
