Overlay of factory parts suck, I'm glad JKL is making this happen. 24/7, for someone who is "in the buisness" you seem to be having a hard time understanding what JKL is explaining, Do you not know how a mold is made? Either way let it go, we don't care. You are alone.

I would love to send a deposit, but I would like to know an estimated price before I commit.

ETA will depend on the test fitting results. We will be getting the sample units in the following weeks and will post some pictures as soon as possible.

Again, to remind those who want to get this GB discount, you must send in your deposit before the first batch production completes or prices will go back to retail. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Yes, the pieces are CFRP so CF layer backed by FRP layers. We always use high quality epoxy resin to offer a good adhesion and UV resistance. We will post more pictures when the rest of the sample kit comes in.

just a quick recap, the 6 piece mold set in CF would run about 1000, correct?

Most likely to be $1200 as we stated a while back because of the complex production process and the increase in material cost from the factory end. For all the small studs with tapped holes, we have the factory technicians manually plant tiny pre-tapped PVC tubes then mold it in. That's why it takes really long and lots of effort to make each of these pieces. The reason to do it this way is to provide a better and more OEM-like mounting for all the accessory parts, such as switches and lights.

Any updates on things moving out? On Feb12th in a PM to me where I was asking how long this was going to take you said "i do not expect this project to take very long"....3 months later and we still dont have sample pieces.

It is getting borderline ridiculous.

We did run into some delays due to the initial production mistake of the RHD pieces. Also, these pieces are harder to produce than we initially anticipated so the factory techs have been trying different solutions to replicate the mounting designs. We apologize for the delay but we do not want to rush on any project and ignore the quality and fitment. Specially these handcrafted interior pieces, each piece requires precision and integrity. These are not OEM overlays which you do not have to worry about fitment or how they are mounted. For our pieces, the tech guys have to make sure these will mount as close to OEM as possible and this process takes longer than we thought.

As far as of now, they are working on the passenger side panel along with the passenger side pull handle. Yes, we are thinking about replicating the pull handle, that's why this project is taking a bit longer than we though since new problems and subjects keep on coming. We will have the factory ship us the finished panels first so we can post some test fit results asap.

Again, we apologize for the delay but things have slowed down over the past several months due to the declining economy. The factory staffs went through some changes so did their production efficiency. So please bear with us and we will get the parts made as soon as we possibly can.

Everyone should have to design, mock, fabricate, replicate, test & sell something. It is a HUGE pain in the ****. Most of the time the guys who are replicating it have no clue as to where it goes and what parts of the part are imperitive and what parts are not. One offs are easy. Replicating finish parts is bitch.

i knew this would take way longer than expected but i have to commend them on trying to make this work, cause all n all they could just get upset with it and take the loss which they might anyways on it cause they are going to have alot invested in it and charging not that much for the very few that want it

Bump TTT for 4 months of having deposits without having prodcued a single working prototype and 2 months since the RHD screwup (which I still dont understand how that happens if there is so much hands on technician labor involved making sure everything is perfect).

If you arent JKL I would appreciate you keep you 2 cents about the process being difficult to yourself, especially if you have not committed enough to send some of your hard earned cash. This is even more disturbing when you add the fact that in late february I pm'd JKL about the long time for these parts and was told "Oh no this will be fairly quick, parts should be ready for production in 3-4 weeks".

First, we apologize again for the delay. Second, we really hope you guys be patient and understand what we have gone through to make these happen. When we say this is difficult to make, we are not talking about just delivery a piece of shell to you and hope for gods that it will mount without a problem. There have been and will be so many things we have to do in order to make sure these will work both visually and mechanically. These pieces are totally different than doing overlays in which you do not have to worry about things like size, height, or positions of the mounting holes in the back, shape of the backside of every opening, and tons of other things. And for the production processes, we have gone through so many molds during the test phase in order to bring you these sample units and probably more if there is major problems with these samples. For example, the tech guys decided that they have to use a 7-piece mold just to make the door handle panels due to the pieces being so small but with lots of openings and contour changes. Things have been done and will be done to make sure these things will fit as good as possible but then these processes take time. Since we and all of you would realize the fact that hand crafted pieces do not come with the high precision plastic injection parts, we had to take as mush precaution as possible during the initial phase so we will not end up with tons of complaints about things not fitting right.

Here are the sample units we just received yesterday and will have these tested hopefully next Monday. As you may notice in the pictures, we have 3 different types of backside finishes, the reason is we are testing on what type of finish looks the best so future production parts will all have the same type of finish. Remember, these are sample units, so if you have any suggestions or ideas on making these things better, don't hesitate to share with us.

The basic 6 piece kit offered in this GB includes the following items:
Gauge Cluster Face
Gauge Cluster Hood
Shifter Surround Panel
Driver Side Plastic Surround
Passenger Side Plastic Surround
A/C Panel

If you are interested, please send a $300 deposit to sales@jklre.com
You MUST put your forum name and the exact item you want in the description field when sending paypal payments. That way we can keep a better record of your payment status and identity. It will be difficult for us to keep matching emails, real names, and forum names every time when we search through our records.

Due to the current bad economy, we figured that we should change the GB policy around slightly to increase the efficiency in GB progresses. So here is what we will do for all GB. If a project is worth doing, we will start the production and give a certain time for people to send in deposit. Only those who send in deposit during the first batch production will receive the GB discount and the GB will be closed immediately after the first batch production is completed. After the GB is closed, price will go back to MSRP.

So if you would like to receive the GB discount for this interior kit, send in your deposit soon since once we receive all the pieces, the production will begin.

If no order details have been included for your order, then please update it as soon as possible so we know what parts you want.

Well I definately appreciate the explaination and the update.

Any guess on when they will be done? Only reason I am asking so much is my shifter console is broken and I dont want to buy a used one only to get these in a few weeks but the car looks like **** going to shows with no center console. Smell what I am steppin in

Those look great. What is the plan for the drivers door, will it be a solid piece or will it have a pocket. Personally, I never use the pocker its always a hassel.

Yes I have done the fitting and kevin has the pictures in his possesion. I was fairly impressed with the over all fitment of them but a few adjustments need to be made to mounting the hardware on the back for the A/C panel. The shifter panel overall fitment was good and I was able to get everything mounted to it with minimal effort preety much just swap everything over. The A/C panel over all fitment wise was good but there are a few high low spots in the back that dont allow for everything to be mounted propperlly although it can be made to work which is what I did you just have to leave a few screws out. The Gauge cluster over all fitment was good but the gauge hood area up top needs a quick fix in the back with one of the mounting tabs. There was one button area thats needs to be adjusted as well. But as for overall fitment everything went together pretty easy. I would suggest anyone doing this on there own pre-screw all your bolts with the proper bolts before transfering everything over.

Thanks to Chris, here are some test fitting pictures. As I have mentioned before, all these handcrafted pieces require a lot of attention to details and precisions during production in order to assure a good fitting result. As you may see from the pictures below, the most difficult areas are where the *****, switches, and other accessory pieces go on the panels. We will try our best to make sure that every piece we deliver can offer a good fitment but again, please understand that 100% perfection is hardly possible so some minor adjustments might be required to mount all the accessory parts perfectly. Here are the pictures:

sorry about that, we overlooked your post. As far as RHD pieces, we only have mold for the shift panel right now and the other pieces were under production then put on hold for now. So finishing all the RHD pieces by the deadline you proposed is totally dependent on the upcoming schedules of the production facility. As far as we know for now, the RHD door pieces will most likely not get produced because of the lack of current interest and those parts require too many molds to manufacture. The AC panel and gauge pieces will be produced but ETA is unknown as of now due to the other projects taking the majority of our time.
