KS Total Rx7 n00b.

New to this obsession.
Helped my boyfriend work on his Rx7 when he was re-building it. Then drove it last night. Really getting into them.
Hopefully I'll have my own soon after I learn more about them.

But uh yeah, name's Helena.
Almost 19.
Living in Kansas.

Any help or any info on the cars is very welcome.

Hello. I'm new also and don't know much about these cars YET. I have been reading though. Trying to understand some of the stuff I read on here. The forums here seem like a good place to learn some things. I am sure my husband is tired of me asking what does this mean or that mean? lol . He had to explain to me what FC was ! haha . They are fun cars to drive and nice looking. I'm in love with the one we just bought. Search through the forums for anything you want to know. Good luck .

Hey mang, I take no credit. The car pulls 'em in on it's own, haha.

Glad to know I'm not the only girl on here, hah.

And yeah, st1llet0 really had nothing to do with it. He did a little. But I went to my first meet on Sunday, that's what drew me in completely.

I'm not a total n00b when it comes to cars though, I used to work on cars a lot when I was a bit younger. So learning about these cars probably won't be too hard for me.

It was nice to meet you too! Your car is awesome btw.

Thanks for the welcoming.

I'm thinking a 2nd gen. I like them a bit more than 1sts and 3rds.
Me and Jerry have big plans for the car, haha. It'll be my first car.

I'm really stoked. I was surprised I could even drive Jerrys car. The first car I drove was an '06 Mustang, the teacher sucked, lol. He didn't tell me half the stuff Jerry did when he was teaching me..

Heh. I'm not to horriable with cars. I know how to do most of the maintence and stuff. Though on the RX I have never done that. I used to work in a machine shop ( high performance and race ) and I did all of the valve jobs, helped put motors together and stuff like that. I never did anything on an RX though. When my husband had the 87 RX I only got to drive that for a maybe 2 months before it broke down.

2nd gen I think is pretty nice. The 3rd's are nice to but since we have the 2nd I love driving it and love the way it runs and looks. The 1st gen's I don't care for as much either. Hubby wants a 3rd gen though. Maybe next year. We are definatly gonna have to get a 2nd RX though cause we both want to drive it all the time.

Yeah, I'm completely in love with my boyfriends car. The first thing I helped him on with the car was putting in the tranny, haha. And in a cold barn.....it's not fun, lmao. Oh well, I had fun and he was kinda surprised I did help him [it was when we first met].

I was really nervous to drive it the first time and I know he was too. But now I'm just in love with it. ^.^

I was nervous the first time I drove this. It's been over 5 years since my husband first taught me how to drive a manual and it's been about the same since I last drove one. So far we haven't done much to the car yet. Added a new steering wheel, cleaned it up, got a stereo and speakers for it. I just ordered a boot for it and one for the ebrake also. Some things I want to do right away is the clutch and fix the idle.

No not yet. I found this one on ebay and was bidding on it while he was at work. By the time the auction ended I had won. I was so happy. I really wanted the car. We are talking about buying him one next year. Right now we share this one.

That's awesome! I wish I was that lucky, haha.
Being 18, and just now starting my life out, it's gonna be a bit harder for me to get one. But I will get one. I'm determined. =D

I'm sure you'll get one if you want it that bad. We know this wasn't a " practical " car for us or the kids but we both have been wanting one. I got lucky finding this one that wasn't to high in price. Only down side to it really is that the car hasn't been run for over a year and the guy who sold it to me claims he put in a new clutch but it doesn't feel like it. Not sure why he even did that since he turned around and sold it 3 months after doing that and he never drove it or tagged it. * shrug * His loss my gain Still finding out things about the car though. He didn't really tell us much about it.

Yeah, it's deff worth it.

And yeah, people tend to do that. I'll be looking at cars on craigslist and they'll have on the description that they've done all this new stuff to it, only to sell it for under $700..
I'm like, Okay, what's REALLY wrong with the car? lol.

When I get mine, I'm just gonna get a shell, and me and the boyfriend are gonna do everything else ourselves. From the inside and out.

Thats cool. We looked on craigslist and ebay. We tried to get something close to where we live but didn't find anything. One I looked at was cheaper but it was out in CA and they didn't know why it had just stopped shifting. Could be a number of things. Ended up having the car shipped here anyway. Wasn't to bad.

There's one not too far from where I live.
Ideal of what I'm looking for. But it's 5 grand. And I just don't have that kinda money, lol.
