RX-7 Mom - Hello
Hello,
I am technically the owner of a 1988 Mazda RX7 1.3L Rotary MFI 080 CID. The only way I knew that technical stuff is because I looked up the VIN #. A good friend of mine was selling her uncles RX7 that had been kept in a garage and in pretty good condition. I wanted to buy my 17 yr son a car I knew he would love and that I did too. So I bought it even though neither of us knew how to drive a manual. Move ahead 5 months and my son has taught himself to drive the car and I hope to learn soon. He loves it and gets a lot of attention while driving it. I joined this group because I have questions about the car and how to get parts, but I am totally afraid of breaking some of the rules. I hope I can get comfortable after a couple of days of reading things in the site. Thanks for letting me join.

First off, welcome to the club. You're in the right place to learn. Generally speaking, most of us are pretty laid back about most things. Tracking down parts and turning wrenches can be kind of intimidating at first, but there's a wealth of knowledge here. Also, the original manuals and parts catalogs here:
Foxed.ca - Mazda RX-7 Manuals
Be sure to download them, you'll be off to a strong start and be glad you have them. For quick reference, 86-88 non-turbo is referred to as "S4NA", short for Series 4 Naturally Aspirated. That can help a lot when looking for parts in the Marketplace.

We also love seeing pictures of RX-7's! Would like to see pictures of yours as well! When you bought the car, did it come with any documentation or repair history?
