New FD 94' Touring

Hi all,

I have been around the 90's Japanese cars pretty much all my life, but have yet to own an FD or rotary for that matter. I have been big into the Nissan 300zx's for years having had 3 Z31's and 1 Z32 with an old 73 240z as well for good measure. I have worked on and built a bunch of friends cars over the years which included a number of 240sx's, DSM's, MR2's as well as some FD RX-7's so I'm not completely new.
With all that being said, I had the chance to buy a 94' RX-7 last January that had been sitting for about 14 years in a workshop that an older gentleman bought back in 2004 and barely drove it. I went to look at it then, but couldn't pay the asking price at the time knowing how much work was probably going to need to be put into the car. Fast forward to September 2022 and I just couldn't forget about the car sitting so I pulled the trigger. Below is some information and pictures of the car.
94' touring with 87K miles
Been sitting for 14 years
Silver in color
Completely stock and untouched
Didn't run when we picked it up
Now the car is far from perfect and has a considerable amount of dings, nicks and oil leaks. I was contemplating leaving everything stock, but I have found so many little issues it would take a fortune to return it to perfectly stock condition so honestly I'm leaning towards modifying things. Anyway, just hoping to enjoy the car for a little bit before I have to go in and reseal the engine. On to the pictures.

As the car sat for the last 14 years in hibernation and then finally seeing daylight. It's a little bit dusty.

Below is the gentleman that I bought the car from. He is an amazing bronze metal artist and has done many presidential busts, as well as numerous statues around town here. He was also commissioned to do an amazing wagon train in Oklahoma which ended up being a 10 year project and part of the reason the car sat so long. Amazing person to talk to.

Car with all the dust and oil off of it. Cleaned up nicely, but it's going to need some bodywork to get things how I want them.

Sitting with the F30 BMW now. Amazing how big the BMW's have gotten in their later years.

And lastly, the sacrifice that I had to make so I had room in the garage for the car. I am seriously regretting this year as we've had over 200% of our normal snowfall and it's been killing me. Luckily I can still rent and ride a little.

Well that's about it for now. I have spent the last 4 months reading just about everything on this site and familiarizing myself with the car in general as well as looking into most of the suppliers of parts. Things definitely don't come cheap that's for sure. Looking forward to a lot of fun years with the car.
