Proud new owner of a 1983 FB RX-7 (GSL???)!

I just bought a 1983 RX-7. It isn't running at the moment as it doesn't have any accessories like the water pump or alternator on it(i need to find the correct belt map so if anyone has it pls lmk.) and something is up with the carb. The previous owner told me that the carb either needs to be cleaned or rebuilt. He also street ported the engine. Out of my many projects I've never had an RX-7 and I'm really excited to be a part of this new community and work on such a unique car.

Welcome to the club!

This is the general layout of the belts on a rotary engine (depending on which accessories are attached).

welcome aboard. if there's no sticker on the underside of the hood, i'm sure it's listed in the manual.

Foxed.ca - Mazda RX-7 Manuals

might also want to post up any issues ur having in the new member tech. should be able to verify porting work by removing the intake.

good luck man. hope it doesn't take too much to get it going again.

@rxtasy3 sounds good man thanks for all the help. I took off the carb today and I was having a little issue taking off the intake but I will get to it tomorrow. I will post a pic of the ports when it is off.

Welcome to the forum! Would definitely love to see more pictures of the car! Curious what it looks like in the daylight. From what I can tell it will be a fun restoration project!
