long time admirer of fd3's. i've always stuck with other japanese brands because of their real or perceived reliability but was scared away from rotaries because of some of the stories i've come across over the years. now that i'm in the position to get another fun car i'm looking to learn more about the rx-7's before possibly taking the jump.
Welcome! There are a lot of horror stories out there but to be honest, the RX-7 is pretty reliable as long as the car is maintained properly and not constantly beat on. Things fail and engines wear out, that's a given. I lost an engine in one of my RX-8's in the driveway on cold start up. Was my fault though for not letting it warm up twice in a before moving it around in the driveway and shutting it off cold. I knew better, but I was in hurry. Once you do some research and learn the car's do's and don't's I think you'll be fine and you'll enjoy an RX-for many years to come!
