okinawa rx7

hello rx7 club!! i'm brand new to mazda/rx7/rotary/turbo. my past is honda/na. i knew what i was getting into when i decided i wanted an fd. i have had mine for a couple months now and it definitely is a money pit. i dont really have a problem with it though. i really enjoy this car and everything it has to offer.

with this being a new field to me i have no prior knowledge or experience in this area. some of my post may not make sense or may be way off the wall. please dont bash me for it, i simply know not of a way to phrase my question or get my point across.

im really excited to get into this build. my goal is to have a beast of a street machine that is reliable. so im not really to go above 400hp... intentionally. mostly trying to get into reliability, basic maintenance items, and moderate upgrades. this is not my daily driver, more of a weekend warrior.

any help from the well-experienced members of this amazing forum will be GREATLY appreciated...

mike

Are you military? I just got orders to Misawa. I too am looking to buy an FD. It is the only other car I have wanted..ever.

How much did you pay for yours if you don't mind me asking?

Welcome to the club fellow "Devildog" or Doc/winger lol

Make sure you read up on the FAQ and check out the 3rd gen sections for up to date write ups and problem solving.

My buddy Jesse (R3AL CHIK3N) here is In Camp Hansen he also has a FD well here but there he has a R32. He can help you also.

yes, i paid under 4000 american for it. so it was kind of a deal, except the guy that had it before me didnt really care for it properly and im finding these things out gradually. im not on mainland but everyone here says its better because drifting is legal for air force. what branch are you?

Nice FD, I just left Okinawa about 6 months ago, there are a few die hard rotary fan on the island. Dont take that island for granted there are some amazing roads uo north past Hedo point on 331 and route 2 very scenic and Ekei island is really nice too. Good luck where do you work on Kadena?
