Cool New to RX7Club but been around for a while

So I'm Matt, I'm new to the site (been lurking a while) but have been into Mazda's (and VW's) for some time and have been pretty active on other rotary boards. For anyone wondering, the FLAT4 in my screen-name is due to my VW roots.

In the UK I had a daily driver JDM FD3 which I absolutely loved and was constantly playing with. I never had any reliability issues at all and over the course of a few years it ended up being single turbo'd and was running a very reliable and usable 396hp. The biggest improvement I made was definitely going single and investing in some proper mapping. Other than the extra hp though a close second were the TEIN FLEX coil-overs and diff brace which eliminated ALL wheel hop and totally transformed the corning abilities. I've done a fair bit with car's over the years but this is the only one where every mod I made resulted in a MASSIVE smile!

I had to sell my baby as I moved to the states where I bought a '66 Thunderbird (I just needed to own an american classic!) which was almost as thirsty as the FD with it's 390FE but was a bit of a different animal! It was awesome though.

I then got relocated back to the UK, sold the T-Bird and bought my better half a bone stock white 1990 Miata for while I was away. I bought a JDM Eunos Roadster when I got back to the UK (Laguna Blue '94 1.8 S Special with 46k on it) which I sold recently as I'll be moving back to SoCal in the next month! When I was in the US I also picked up a '64 bug which will be getting a lot of love (and HP) upon my return...

There's also a '73 Bug in the mix (back in the UK) with a monster 2332cc flat 4 in the back which I've given to my dad... Had a few other interesting ones over the years including a bug that ran an 11.09 1/4 @ 137mph on 10" slicks.

I like anything cool and different, well maintained, well set up and CLEEEEEAN...

I'll be buying another FD but not until I know we're able to stay in the US long term, I'm not going to put myself through having to sell another!

So that's me - Hello

Oh and here's some pics

Sorry for all the pics but they'll tell you a lot about me and my tastes a lot quicker than a load of text would! Still my favourite car was the FD and I can't wait to get my hands on another, just need to know for sure what continent I'm going to be on long term first!
