Newbie with '79 in SC

Hello all,
Recently purchased a 1979 RX7 from the original owner. I believe is it about the 225th one imported to the US.
Currently struggling to figure out what set of wheels and tires to put on it. I'd like to keep it pretty stock.
Looking forward to the wealth of information and experience everyone has to offer.
Cheers

Looks like the body is in great shape. I think the seats have been changed to a later model and the rear has been worked over for disk brakes? If so they would probably be off of an 85. the original came with either 13 x 5 inch steel wheels or 13 x 5.5 inch alloys. the standard tire was a 185HR13, not much tire.

welcome, very nice find on the SA. glad to see another 1st gen in sc. definitely has seats from an FB. there's only a couple manufacturers making wheels in the 4x110 pattern.

here's a link to the SE section of the forum. SE RX-7 Forum - RX7Club.com

welcome to u as well but u need to do an introduction per forum rules. as for the rear brakes, it's hard to tell in the pic but if it does have disc rear it could be from 81-85 gsl to keep the same lug pattern as the front.

I put the seats in. It had an old Recaro and an old SE seat. Tried finding nice original but I couldn't...but if I find some I will change them out. Wasn't sure what year the rear brakes were from.
Thanks for the info.
Steve

Almost forgot my formal intro. Sorry about that on the 1st go round. My name is Steve and I live in SC. I own a small commercial to industrial HVAC company. Looking forward to learning from the RX7 masters!

Looks like a pretty nice garage you've got there too. Seems like a great place to work.

Thanks for the compliments.
Garage is nice, well lit (makes a huge difference) but of course...too small.
It should be nice "driver" restoration and bring back some memories.
I'll post some pics in a couple days.
