New S4 owner from Quebec (pics inside)
Hi everyone,
i've been browsing the forum for quite some time and I finally bought my first car on june 14th.
It's a 1986 RX-7 GXL (yay for the LSD, leather seats and big brakes). It has 106 000 miles (170 000 km). I paid it 2000$ and it's 98% stock (FD alternator and some cheap-*** gauges (oil temp, oil press, etc.). Color is Artic Silver Metallic.
Good news : absolutely NO rust, most electrical components works (windows, roof, AC), engine runs great
Bad news : mirrors and rear wiper motors are dead, a few dents and bumps here and there (mostly on the fenders), front bumper is broken at multiple place, 5th gear synchro is worn out, interior is not perfect, there's an exhaust leak, u-joints are worn out.
My plans for the next 2-3 years (i'm a student... )
-Make the interior perfect (replace all broken/missing parts)
-Repair the exterior (bumps, dents, etc.)
-Get some nice wheels (any suggestion is welcome but if I can find a set i'll get MazdaSpeed MS-01...
-Put S5s front bumper, fenders and tail lights + TII hood
-Replace moldings for S5 ones
-Paint job (Probably will go with red or yellow , maybe "True Red"or maybe a custom red)
-Spoiler (GTU factory style)
-Replace the motor and transmission mounts for MazdaSpeed ones (from corksport)
-Change the clutch for a EXEDY Stage 1 (from mazdatrix)
-Change the driveshaft for an aftermarket one (from mazdatrix)
-Change the exhaust (from ???)
and after that, well I don't know, maybe get some seats, a subtle lip, short shifter, coilovers, springs, turbo ? but what's for sure is that I want to keep it CLEAN (no crazy bodykits, or gigantic wheels in sight)

Welcome to the club.
Sounds like you have some solid plans for that little beauty
Team Dynamics makes the lightest strongest competition wheels that I know of:
http://www.teamdynamicsracing.com/
I would suggest your money goes first into keeping the car running well and reliable.
Also NA transmissions suck and they always start grinding, a little remedy is double clutching when putting it into 5th it will prevent it from grinding.
