Hey whats up rx7 club! my names Antonio and Im from the monterey bay area juss introducing myself to everyone. Ive read the forums for a while and now I need to start posting becuz Im finally going to put my 7 on the road with a new spring and shock combo I found on craigslist. tokico blu w/ tein springs. i bought my rx7 from sum dude who didnt really let me know all the things that were wrong with it. basically drove it home for 2500 dollars cash. thought I was getting a perfect daily driver but all I got was a heap of oil leaks and a mystery leak coming from somewhere on the tranny it seems? like the whole underside of the tranny has a fluid that seems to be coming from this little rubber nipple under the tranny. Im not sure if this is where its from but im guessing. and it doesnt leak that much. like a really minor leak on the ground nothing of puddle status. the leak seems to coat everything underneath the car behind the engine beginning where the tranny mates. If you guys could help it would be great!! but its cool If I got to figure it out on my own, even tho that sucks.
STORY ABOUT HOW I GOT THE CAR:
anyways the first nite i drove it home after driving about an hr and a half away from my house. smoked a blunt on my way up there so I was kind of excited to see the car. after we got there me and my bud met the owner at sum gas station. the car was looking soo good when I first saw it. It was soo much better than my last seven. this seven was extra clean with supposedly 10k on the rebuild, but I later learned that it has more like 80k~ from reading these forums. car was running so smooth and idled quiet and true 750rpm. exhaust was sort of smelly. guy said that he was going to sell the car smogged but I went up on short notice so he didnt have time to that day. he seemed trustworthy so I believed him just cause car was running so smooth. and he seemed legit. car had bald tires and the dude took off the aftermarket shroom intake he had on it. I didnt really get a good chance to look it over cuz it was like 10 at nite and dude was kind of hesitant to let me drive it. I revved it all thro rpm range and it was chill. anywayz i drove home on freeway and it was kind of jumpy. I thought it was the bald tires. later learned it was blown shocks and maybe springs?? Has dark blu springs on it wondering if theyre aftermarket? anyone kno??? anyways dude didnt tell me there was a hesitation rite at 1.5k, probly caused by the chewed up o2 sensor wire and TPS sensor with wire exposed. now Im like *** I just spent 2.5k, I had been saving for months hella tips and paychecks!!!! on a car that needs shocks/springs(400$), TPS(40$), o2 sensor(35$), tires(200$), and had to replace leaky oil pan gasket(35%), and fuked up oil cooler (50$), now oil cooler lines (80$) wich I found on the forum but I need 3 posts just to contact the dude. anyways Im just kind of sad I payed way more than I should have! I also checked the VIN on the California BAR website and the car failed its last smog inspection, so the dude must have been lying about the car being smogg proficient, I recomend to anyone buying a used car with suspect smog to run the vin on BAR website!! comment back cuz I just wrote the whole story of my car. show sum luv!! need oil cooler lines!! just posted on craigslist! T FC3 H!!! dude hit me up I want those lines you got sorry I didnt post pic of my car, dont kno where to host my images

Sometimes you get a good deal, sometimes you get a bad deal. Buyer beware and just look out for yourself next time.

Hey thanks for all the replies!! I appreciate all the comments. dont worry tho! I just bought a suspension setup from a local guy I met on craigslist. the fronts are kyb gr2s on turbo 2 spring and the rears are off the same turbo 2. with low mileage. supposedly. anyways me and my bud Brian (fellow rx7 owner), took off my old worn out springs and struts. It was easy despite having to bend the brake line mounts that we could not seem to slide the brake line out from on the stock struts. Didnt matter because they were blown anyways. installation was simple and the ride height is a bit higher than when I had my blown struts and worn out springs. the ride is really stiff and frim. excellent responsiveness. the guy told me that the turbo 2 springs were stiffer. my friend Brian said the stiffness was just a little less than his tein springs. let's just say that its a huge upgrade and it handles like I thought it should. really tight and just plain nice. If I didnt mention my car is a red s4 hardtop n/a with 4 seats, vert rims, turbo 2 mirrors and blk spoiler. s5 tails. about 80k on the rebuild. I'll post pics soon. The car is coming together. after I installed my new springs and struts. I took the car out for a spin. It handled great. I took a few corners hard to really test it out . then I noticed a clunking sound coming from the rear. I think it may be the differential. Im going to take a look on saturday.

Here are some pics. me and my bud are going to take a look at the tranny and diff on saturday. He's selling a 91 vert but the buyer just wants the shell so I can have all the parts I want for cheap. hes got a rebuilt tranny and great open differential. He's also keeping his aftermarket supension setup koni yellows with tein spriings. [IMG][/IMG]

i feel you on this one. not as much though. i traded an integra for my 7 and all it needed was the water pump. but once i got it running, i found out i need a new motor for the passenger window. the stick shift needs a new bushing. BAD. i need new window switches on the driver side window. the sunroof thing is messed up and doesnt move, my tires are bald except 1. and i just found out that either i have a vacuum leak or i need to fix the TPS. but it still runs good. and the tires break loose without me even dropping the clutch or letting it out. =] and its got power. but it sounds like you got ripped off way worse. that sucks. at least i only paid 500 for the integra

Hey boosted drifter, I will be selling a red s5 vert soon... but it blows smoke dude to blown oil control rings, fresh tranny, fresh clutch, decent paint. Only thing is I am using the s5 mirrors and aero as well as any black interior I desire for my other 7. but it still runs and pulls hard considering it needs an engine but willing to off her soon enough for next to nothing...

not an official FS but a sneak preview to when she is For Sale!!

Hey whats up everyone! just to let you know BlahBebop's vert for sale is soo clean. no rips on the top and has such a nice body. I would buy it but I got my sweet s4. thanks for all the replies! I just put sum new used tires on the s4. I got lucky and found sum BF Goodrich G Force Sport tires that are in next to new condition. size 205/55/r15. my stock tires were soo bald. I almost smashed a curb. but these new ones really bite down. forgot to mention that the new oil cooler lines I put in are so nice, extra shiny and a definate upgrade when compared to the stock lines.

anyone have the rear seat locks that keep the seats in the upright position??? oh yea and that clunking I heard from the rear end was just a loose wheel. we tightened it and clunking was non existent. car is extra clean now. just ready to be driven. any monterey area folks around??

weird. i live in washington state though. and it says you live in cali. the integra was a 1990. the front end was lighter red than the rest of the car. that would be weird if you were the person i traded

oh. my integra wasnt dropped. the interior was really clean but had a rip in the driver seat. it had some ugly tail lights and it was an LS with 150k on it. i miss it. that thing was fast. only through 1st-3rd though. pretty sure my 7 is faster though.
