AZ Hello from the darkside

I've always been enthralled by FD RX-7's, but haven't been a big fan of the rotary. The car for me has always been an FD with an LSX swap. I didn't have the time, space, or knowledge to build one; so I bought one from an experienced builder. This car to be exact - https://www.rx7club.com/v-8-powered-rx-7s-299/super-clean-lsx-ssm-build-961695/ I've only had it for a few days now and haven't really seen it's full potential, but just cruising around is great. The torque is amazing and will put you back in your seat just tapping on the throttle.

This seems to be the place to go for general RX-7 info. So I'm still looking to join the club, even though my FD has gone to the darkside.

Hi there and welcome to RX7CLUB.
You have a very nice FD RX-7 there.
I am a huge fan of the LSX drivetrain.
Quite a few of our members have similar engine swaps.
Glad to have you on the forum.

For me it came down to the sound, torque, and peace of mind a V8 brings. I don't hate rotaries or anything, they are definitely cool. I just don't want to own one.

I am in the Phoenix area, but probably can't make it this month. I am having some tuning issues due to the move from Ohio to Arizona. When pushing in the clutch the revs will sometimes quickly drop to ~500rpm. Usually it will pop back up to ~1500 and work back down like normal, but sometimes the engine will stall. I can probably make the next one depending on where you guys meet up. I'm in the south east of the valley.

If you guys want to check out the car, my friend shot some quick vids. I just got the car and was rusty at driving a manual, so I'm not doing anything terribly exciting. If you hear me muttering something about it stalling, it's the above mentioned tuning issue i talked about. Take a look at http://www.youtube.com/user/Teehsee

Welcome to the board, I have done a few LS swaps into a couple FD's for a few military people, not my style but they are fun.
