Hello..
I'm likely here just to troll... but I am going to start myself up just incase I ever come up with serious questions.
I'm the owner of an 05' Mazda Miata turbo and an Audi V8.
Currently I do a lot of interior work around locally, and have my hands full with a number of projects... buuuut...
Somehow, someway, a Series 5 Turbo II rotary engine with all the accessories, and a separate complete wiring harness and Ecu came into my lap recently. How lucky of me. Oh, Apparently the engine as well was imported from Japan.
This, along with a local RX-7 90 TII give me the axle, trans, various subframe/brake bits, and the engine for about a full TII drivetrain.
I could, of course, make a whole TII rx-7 with all the bits I've got it seems, but my plans at this time are to throw all of this stuff into an NA, or perhaps 99/00 NB Miata and see how she fares at the track.
In particular, what I've been searching is how to rebuild the unit, upgrade it, and the ins and outs of using a programable ecu with the rotary. Fairly familiar with it on piston engines so hope some of it carries over.
Anyway, this is getting a bit too long winded for an intro thread, thanks for the look.
Oh, you might have guessed, but I'm Nick. How do you do?

Hey Nick, I do well Thanks. Sound like a cool turbo project. You come to the right place to get info on how do anything rotary. Good luck and keep us posted, Dave.

Err, pics of the miata or of the S5 motor? There are no Rx's to go with the motor yet. We just broke er down to the keg last night. Looks good, compression is good, no funny stuff coming out, turns freely. Coated fairly well in Lithium grease right now.
I have plenty of pics of the 05' Miata, anyway..

Well, ended up giving up on the NA with rx7 turbo drivetrain.
Ended up doing a built motor and turbo into the msm, pretty quick :-)
I'll be pursuing a small rotary car down the road, hard to say if I'll go Miata, nissan 240 or what not, but we shall see. I'd just like to find a car the rotary engine would actually make lighter. It sucks since the 13b isn't as light as it could be, but it works
