First time posting 1994 Mazda RX-7 touring

Hello Everyone!

This is my first time posting in the community. I live in Alberta, Canada and I've owned my 94 FD for almost 4 years now. It went from janky... to being slightly less Janky 🤣.

Exterior:
Currently I've had the car painted in titanium grey metallic with a 99 spec bumper and the mazdaspeed gen1 wing.

Engine:
The 13b is bridge ported, with an... unknown turbo (no plates or visible markings, but I suspect its a borg-warner core with different housings)
Installed an HKS v-mount kit last year
running the 850cc injectors all around
and for management it has a microtech LT-8
as well as an aem water methanol system.

Drivetrain:
Rebuilt oem transmission with a osgiken TS2CD clutch.
possibly a T-II diff (still haven't taken the rear end apart).
Mazda speed wheels with nitto NT-05 in the fronts and NT-555R drag slicks on the rear

Future mods:
changing the engine management system
replacing the engine harness
installing the new radium engineering fuel delivery system with two ID1050x primaries and four ID2000 for secondaries
as well as doing some interior work with the car.

I don't have any photos of the car on my current laptop, but if you want to see photos, feel free to creep my instagram (@Rokushima)

Hey man! Sounds like you have a pretty solid setup there! Nothing wrong with a little turbo mystery. If its boostin and working like it should, then its solid.

Any idea which ECU you will be going with and do you plan on tuning it yourself? ECU choice really is a huge factor.

Thanks brother!

I really want to go with a Haltech Elite 2500, but my tuner says he's been having issues with the elites and rotaries. so for now I picked up a Power FC to get some better reliability with the car.

Id be interested to hear what those issues were as they'd be the first ones Ive heard of since the elite came out, other than those that go back to the tuner not knowing what you're doing.

heres the car after the the paint job.
The photo filling up gas was taken this fall just before storage. Only put enough in to get it home and the occasional start in winter.

I’m in school full time and work, so I don’t have the chance to tinker with the car a lot.

A friend of mine who owns a reputable shop in town did it for me. He said it was quite tedious but it all fit the way it was supposed to.

I did go with a csf aftermarket rad and I’m definitely having some clearance issues with the fans 😅, but I think I’ve figured a solution.

He didn’t give me specifics, but these guys use haltech every chance they get.

Its not my place to call anyone out, and to be quite honest, I don’t have the technical knowledge to discuss it with you.

He's tuned several rx7’s on the 2500 and has ran into some issues, that’s all I know.

As I said, the plan is still to go with the 2500, but for now I’ll be running a power fc, for convenience, and to be able to enjoy the car a bit.

All good, I'm not looking to argue or anything but for my own benefit understand what the issues are (as I've yet to have or find any...) and help out if I can. I've found that 99% of the time something isn't working right its because it hasn't been setup correctly for the application.

Just be careful on that powerFC, with no engine protection you can grenade an engine without really beating on it. All it takes it a fuel hiccup of any kind in boost and kaboom.

I really like that paint job, you did a great job cleaning it up from how you got it, looks great!
